posting photos for start of 2009 Spring Slamming Spectacular

Well, I guess I’m really in all the way for this contest now! It will be a good motivator to keep up the challenge of hitting the gym and eating decent. I gained weight have to recuperate from my surgery in December and I really need to get it off. Maybe it is a good thing to be a little overweight before a transformation contest… I know I’ve got muscles under the fat layer, just waiting to show themselves better! :) Wish me luck!!!
The bummer is I’m a little distracted from full motivation because my 79-yr-old mom is having open heart surgery next week. I’m worried and stressed about it all. As the only daughter, she moved near me a few years ago so I could keep an eye on her after her series of small strokes. I will be taking her to the hospital (is a couple of hours away) and staying with her through the whole thing. I hate to make excuses before I even begin a project but family does come before bodybuilding.

Heart surgery has come a long way! 25 years ago my Gram had a valve replacement and it was hard on her. Two years ago I had mine replaced ( I was 43). They used a minimal invasive technique and I was home in 3 days, walking 1/2 mile in five! I hope your mom has a minimal invasive surgery, it makes all the differance. I am lifting weights now and relly am in the best shape I think I have ever been!
Let us know how she does! ANd good luck on your competition…do what you can and don’t stress!
