Heading toward my goals feels great

I had a great week, awesome yoga on monday, a hard resistance leg day on thurs and yoga again today. I see tremendous progress in yoga, the poses that used to give me trouble are no problem now and Ive gained a ton of strength especially in my upper body. I can now do side crow and flying crow, next on the list to overcome is the running man pose. Beyond that the only thing I still havent really worked on at all is the handstand or headstand because Im afraid of falling. I need to work on those with my yoga instructor!

Yoga Monday 11/19

Monday, November 19th, 2007

Today was a GREAT yoga session! I really had great progress with the high and low push ups, even with one leg in the air, HUGE success for me!!! Great long hold on my crow pose, I was feeling strong and balanced! My only weakness was my left ankle, need to work on stretching that tendon in my left foot, it seems to be throwing off my balance and makes my ankle burn because it wobbles when I balance on it. All in all a great workout, and then I came home and cooked a nice healthy dinner!

Welcome!

Saturday, 10:12 am. Finished my yoga and ran some errands. I had to work last night so I missed my friday class. I was sure last night when I went to bed I wouldnt wake up in time for yoga and after working such a long week I didnt want to force myself to get up with an alarm yet again. I woke up at 7:33 and I was able to scoot out the door and make it to my class. Sooo glad I did it, yoga keeps me centered emotionally! Its been such a stressful week, working so many hours at both the jobs and still recovering from the emotional roller coaster of 11/5 (first wedding anniversary since my divorce).

In terms of the physical, Im getting better at the low push ups which means strength gains in my shoulders and triceps. Overall I didnt feel like it was a big gain week for me but considering I only slept 6 hours after working 18 hours on my feet, its not so bad! Flexibility is slowing coming with my quads, able to push those poses a bit farther too. All in all a successful day! Looking forward to monday and the 90 minute practice on thanksgiving!!
