Getting Serious About Your Biz. How to Get Your .com
I’ve noticed that of the 148,000 profiles, only 1,200 people on Bodyspace compete or are trying to compete. I figured there’d be more than that but the numbers showed what I stated above.
After a battle for my life with Graves’ Disease, I lost 80 lbs of muscle and fat in 4 months. Along with that, I had symptoms of cancer and multiple sclerosis, plus I had previously been diagnosed with scoliosis. All of this happened at the age of 21. After being diagnosed with Graves’ Disease, I got treated, and multiple sclerosis and cancer were out of the question. I will live and get healthy again, however I will be on medication for the rest of my life. No big deal though. It’s better than death.
I say all that because, it’s given me a mission to compete. I’m still not sure if I will or when. But it will be very therapeutic and uplifting if I do. Someone read my profile and heard about my story and told me that if I’m going to compete, I need to get my own domain name. I asked how does this work and why do I need it? To put it simply, she explained that the domain name is your identity online. It’s your .com; and if I was going to compete or even think about it I needed to get my own .com before someone took the name and most importantly, I needed it for professional purposes. After she explained more, I came to realize that when promoting myself for contests and performing infront of judges, I couldn’t give them my bodyspace.bodybuilding.com/yngrich URL. It’s too long, no one remembers it, and it’s unprofessional in this day and age.
So, we went through the process and she signed me up for $20 and my domain name (mikeprice.com) was taken. She said, “now see, that’s exactly why it’s important to get on top of this now so that you get something worthwhile.” So then she thought about: whoismikeprice.com. I thought it was really catchy and empowering.
So now I’ve got my very own.com. So if you visit www.whoismikeprice.com, you will be reverted to my bodyspace URL. The whole process is so much easier now. People can remember whoismikeprice.com better and it’s only $10/year.
If you’re a competitor, competing in the future, or just trying to make some progress, I urge you to Get Serious About Your Biz and get your own .com. $20 is definately worth it. You can reach Michelle at: michelle@michelletheobald.com or michelletheobald.com (reverts to her bodyspace profile)
