Hypertrophy One - A6

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

Start:  7:40am
Finish:  8:45am

Warm Up:  Three minutes on the rower and rotator cuff stuff

SS:
DB Inc BP:  70 (2-35s)x10×4
Cable Seated Rows:  110×10x4
——-
SS:
DB Shoulder Press:  40(2-20s)x10×4
WG Lat PD:  70×10x4

SS:

High Pull:  50×10x3/55×10x1

Parallel Bar Dips:  10/9/3/3

Swiss Ball Crunches:  15×3

Thoughts:  Tiring.  This took a little longer as I re-read the way one is prescribed to do a Super Set in NROL.  I can take a break between movements.  Sweet.  :)

Added the Dips for fun.

Some discomfort in my left shoulder.  Similar to what I was having in my right shoulder.  It did not hinder anything.

Hypertrophy One - A4

Monday, September 17th, 2007

tart:  7:47am
Finish:  8:40-ish am

Warm Up:  Three minutes on the treadmill and rotator cuff stuff.

SS:
DB Inc Bench Press:  60(2-30s)x5×2/70(2-35s)x5×3
Cable Seated Row:  120×5x5
———-
DB Shoulder Press:  50(2-25s)x5×3/60(2-30s)x5×2
WG Lat PD:  90×5x4/100×5x1
———-
BB Close Grip Bench:  65×5x3/75×5x2
High Pull:  65×5x3/75×5x2

Swiss Ball Crunch:  3×15

Thoughts:  Weight was 185 this morning.  Still figuring out the weights on this.  The reps/sets/rests change on this all the time, so nailing down a weight is a bit of a challenge.  Perhaps I’m just hesitant to try a weight heavier.  All in all, good today.

Hypertrophy One - A3

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

Start: 7:50am
Finish: 8:39am

Warm Up: Three minutes on the rower and rotator cuff stuff

SS:
DB Inc BP: 60(2-30s)x10×4
Cable Seated Row: 100×10x4
——–
DB Shoulder Press: 40(2-20s)x10×4
WG Lat PD: 70×10x4
——–
BB CG BP: 45×10x2/50×10x2
High Pull: 45×10x2/50×10x2
——–
Swiss Ball Crunches: 15×3

Thoughts: Weighed in at 182 this morning. Whew, I put me feet close together on the crunches and damn near rolled off the ball. I also close my eyes when I do these as I feel it adds a bit more of a stability challenge than when my eyes are open.

On another, sad note, my wife’s grandmother passed away last night. She’s in Washington state (can’t remember the name of the town). To the best of my knowledge, she wasn’t ill, but I believe she had a pacemaker. She lived a full life.

Monday, September 10th, 2007

Start: 7:51am
Finish: 8:40am

Warm Up: Three minutes on the rower and rotator cuff stuff.

SS:
Smith Squat: 100×5x5
Deadlift Shrug: 145×5x4/155×5

Step Up: 10 (2-5’s)x5×1/20(2-10’s)x5×4 each leg
———–
Reverse Crunches: 15×3

Thoughts: Weighed in at 183 this morning. Liked this one.. despite it had the BSS’s in them. ha. Long rest for this one, ninety seconds is what is prescribed. Not used to a rest that long.

Hypertrophy One - A2

Friday, September 7th, 2007

DOMS yesterday… but serious DOMS this morning… hammies were pretty sore… not too bad, though.  At least I could walk.

Start:  7:50am
Finish:  8:35am

Warm Up:  Three minutes on the rower.  Rotator cuff stuff.

SS:
DB Inc BP:  50lbs (2-25s)x15×3
Cable Seated Row:  80×15x3
——-
DB Shoulder Press:  30 (2-15s)x15×3
WG Lat PD:  60×15x3
——-
BB CG BP:  45×15x3
BB High Pull:  45×15x3

Swiss Ball Crunch:  3×15

Thoughts:  Weight was 180 today.  Each workout the rest periods drop.  The first was 90 seconds, then 60 and today was 30.  Whew.  I found this pretty tough.
