Weight

Saturday, July 28th, 2007

Iam currently eating very clean only taking in roughly 3000 calories a day with atleast 20 mins of cardio 5 days a week. My body calculated out to 2650 calories needed just to sustain current weight. While eating cleaner than ever I have currently put on about 7 lbs this past month & at this time I am unaware of what my bodyfat is but friends and fellow bodybuilders have told me my waist appears to be pulling taught. Im kinda at a catch 22 right now, my goal is to lean down to 191 by summers end to be in better starting position comp prep however if all my weight gain has been lean I feel as though I should continue to run with it. I will hopefully be able to analyze bodyfat sometime this up coming week and better acess from there.

Arms

Saturday, July 28th, 2007

Yesterday I had some added motivation thanks to a certain someone really irritating me prior to my training session. From the moment I walked into the gym I had one thing and one thing only in mind…PAIN! The workout consists of 4 push/pull supersets each consisting of 3 sets. This was followed by a total of 200 forearm reps. Today is a mandatory day off but I really have to fight off the urges to get in there and destroy my chest a day early. The gym is my life now, that is y I will achieve my goals.

Leg Day

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007

Today was the best day of the week, legs… Today I felt exceptionally strong and was definately counting down the hours till I was gonna be able to get in the gym. I started off like I do every leg day with pre exhaustion. 3 sets of 15 leg extensions then it was off to the rack. 5 set pyrmid with a double drop for the last set working up to 405 for 10 parallel. Next was walking barbell lunges 4 sets 12 per leg. Then stiff leg deads 4 sets of 12 with lying curls following 4 sets of 12 - 15. Last was some calf work followed by 20 mins of easy cardio due to the fact I couldn’t walk. I love leg day because one year ago my legs needed serious attention and now they get noticed as one of my strongest and most developed areas. I LOVE IT>

Today was chest day & let me start by saying I realized 3 weeks ago that I need to bring my upper chest out. Having a powerlifting background I have always focused on flat bench. I have revamped my chest routine and it is delivering some unbelievable pumps. To start im warming up with 3 sets of 75 pushups utilizing three different hand positions. Then the workout goes as follows: Incline DB 70×15, 85×12, 100×9-10… Incline BB 185×12, 205×10, 215×7-8… Cable Cross 3 sets x 15… Flat BB 185×15, 225×12, 240×10… Flat DB Fly superset w Incline DB Fly 3 sets 55×12. The goal is to have a shelf of a upper chest by January 1, 2008. Im 45 weeks out from my first comp and I will place… ACHIVE never be DENIED

New Guidence

Sunday, July 15th, 2007

Ten days ago I had the opportunity to train with one of the top amatuer bodybuilders in the state. We trained legs and it was the single best leg workout Ive ever had. This man was very impressed with my strength and power and has since befriended me. This mans name is Mike he took 4th at the N. Americans last year and will win it by 2008 I gaurantee. With Mike’s guidence I have already felt my body changing with the tweeks in my training he has made. I now feel like it is truely my destiny to win the Mr. Canton this year, in my first ever competition, and move on to bigger shows. I thank Mike for taking me on as his protege’ and will make him proud to say he trained me. Once again thank you Mike.

Overnight meals

Friday, July 6th, 2007

I work 24 hour shifts and most of them I am up the whole time then resume normal activity the next day leaving me awake for 36 hours plus usually twice a week. Im unsure of how I should be eating throughout these times. Im up and functioning so should I be consuming carbs? And if so should they be simple or complex or fiberous? As of right now all I do is take in a Whey shake in water at midnight, 3am, & 6am. Then resume normal morning intake at 8am with half cup oats and 5 egg whites with 1 whole egg. Any answers?
