Almost there!
Well, just got done with my sixth straight day of intense training for hockey tryouts. We skated for 2 and a half hours this morning while 95% of the other college students here were probably asleep, hungover, etc. from a friday night out. Yesterday I made it through first cuts onto to a list of names with 30 others… the list needs to be from 32 down to 30 by monday. I had a good week I though, and I know I am closer than ever but I still have one more session to try and impress before the coaching staff makes their final decision. I have never been so sore & exhausted in my entire life but I love it. I have been working hard all summer for this and want it more than anything, my family and friends are pulling for me– so we’ll see what happens tomorrow. I should know by noon!

Yes! I did get it. I guess I never really came back to update my blog. I made the team as a walk-on. Definitely feel it was one of my life’s finest accomplishments, not only in the pursuit of my hockey career, but in terms of achieving a goal through persistent hard work and a positive attitude. It has been a great experience so far. I have made 28 new friends whom I’ll be very close to over the next 3 to 4 years and have met a lot of others through my team mates and various events. Never before has anyone wanted my autograph until Ohio Hockey. It’s a huge time commitment and a strenuous daily grind, but it’s all well worth it.

So what do you think of the Blue Jackets? Would you like to play for them one day?

I am a huge fan of the BlueJackets and I would love to play for them one day, however, not many kids make it the pros as you know so education is definitely first on my list right now
