I am not lazy, I just forget everything because I have no good routine setup for daily life. sure I’ve got a routine, but its not a nice and healthy one.

I want to change that though. but its not like I can remember things everyday that I wan tto do, I dont pay enough attention for that, so I forget to eat breakfast before leaving for work, I forget to pick up lunch stuff so I end up eating worse, I forget to brush teeth and to excersize.

so I am going to go back to basics and just move around more throughout the day, set reminders on my phone to tell me to do something every hour, jumping jacks, pushups, situps, pullups, just walk, SOMETHING, and set reminders for everything else, untill I get it all set down in my routine

now I just gotta add some pushups, dips(when Imake my rings) jump squats and some pulling work from the floor and I’ll be good!

got myself a pullup bar for the house, and I have started the new diet. now I need rings for the pullup bar so I can do ring dips and bodyweight rows and such.

the diet is an oatmeal/bannana/milk shake for breakfast with my multivitamin, coffee, and yogurt later on in the morning, I may add some protien drink in there too somwhere. then two sandwiches, one at lunch and one at around 3pm. the sandwich will be whole wheat bread (I want to find some that doesnt have folid acid added) with 2oz cheese, 4oz meat (turkey or roast beef, whatever is on sale) and a generous helping of "spread". the spread is gonna be beans (black and I will start trying others too) and some jalepenos, redpeppers, onions, spices, all smashed and blended together smoothly, think bean dip but no lard or oil, or think guacamole using beans instead of avacados, though I will likely make guac as spread too for variety. one day a week instead of my sandwiches I will hit the salad bar at my local grocery store and try to get more veggies in my diet. dinners will be whatever my wife and I make for dinner, but we are getting healthier in our planning and have gotten a bunch of whole foods to make meals with instead of processed. we will make a couple large batches of the meal parts at the begining of the week and then just assemble and reheat for dinners, since we both work and there is no time. weekends will be leftovers of the dinners throughout the week.

My lovely wife has expressed interest in us all getting healthier and eating less/better and she tried out the pullup bar and even though I dont think she’s ever made much pullup efforts in her life, she could get so very close to a full one last night, I think by the end of the week she will be able to easily do a full one, which will be very encouraging. she’s always impressing and suprising me.

I am a husband, a father, an artist, a desk jockey. I like to snowboard and bike, I like running around and acting foolishly even though I am supposed to be all grown up. I am built largish, and if I am not too lazy or horrible in my diet I stay right around 240lbs now that I am all done filling out. I am spiritual and generally peacable, I am easy going and funny. I am not intense, at least most of the time. I prefer smooth and refined over exaggerated and brutal, though I tend to be more exaggerated and brutal anyways.

I think I need to setup a program without weights, or at least with very little to do with weights. body movements and bodyweight, balance, easy sustainability, cheep, simple, nonimpact and generally noninjuring.

so I think I’ll be doing the chinups and pullups, the pushups, the dips, a lot of yoga, walking, cycling as the weather allows, snowboarding when I can, and playing with the kids. I’ve also enjoyed squatting and deadlifts, so I think I will integrate those in, but likely without weight, or with just a little weight, maybe the squats will be jump squats, for a little extra jump.

I dont know about the diet yet, seems everytime I figure this eating thing out, I get sidetracked and forget completely and start back to square 1

so here I am, mid holiday season, fat again, sore and stiff again, not feeling great again, not working out again.

This is a problem. the keeping to a diet/routine thing. it hasent really happened yet. I have a theory why.

I think my problem is that my diets and training routines are not centered with the rest of my life, theyare in stark contrast and require a lot of constant effort to maintain. When I was younger and single, no kids, all kinds of free time and no responsibilities a strict bodybuilding routine would work with me, but it still didnt. Thats not who I am I guess. And in order for a program to work with a person, it should fit them, not make them fit it, that wont bring any harmony to someone and will cause internal problems.

so then, if I am not a person that will dedicate a lot of time and money into scuplting their body to perfection, can I actually still sculpt my body into a nice peice of work anyways? I think so, and I think I will be able to keep it going longer if not forever if I keep the program centered around my life, not the other way around.

so then who am I?
