need better progress pics

I keep taking these after a workout and I am all flushed and have no better place than a quick shot in the lockerroom mirror.  maybe if I feel good and look good tonight I’ll have my lady take a couple nice ones of me, though the lighting wont likely be much better

intense

if I could work the intensity of this mornings workout into all my workouts, I’d be at my goals by now.  did interval training (I think thats that word) 5 reps of squats, pushups, and situps, back to back, ten breath rest between, for 5 times straight through, then rested 3min and did it again, rested 3min and did it again.  then I was all fired up so I hit 45lb DBs on the press, and did reverse pushups on the smith machine for 5×5.  and then, I was done.

I’m also gonna try some changes in diet, not much, more just sticking to something.  I had oatmeal for early breakfast, a good 1.5hrs before my workout, and I just had some chicken afterwards and I’ve got my protein and OJ and some chocolet milk here.  I’ve got 2 bannanas and 2 chicken and bologna sandwiches for this afternoon, not sure what dinner will be though.

gotta work the diet

I think I am getting too little protein, I did much better and saw better results with about 4 scoops of powder a day along with my standard eating.

right now I dont think my diet is working well, I have little energy, dont feel great, and am not really seeing the results I thought I would. also if I dont have it right I get very gassy and bloated have less a fun time in the bathroom. I currently eat:

breakfast:  usually an english muffin with peanut butter, sometimes yogurt, and sometimes a bannana, sometimes coffee, sometimes not

afterworkout breakfast:  oatmeal with a little honey, just oatmeal and water.  orange juice with 1 scoop eggprotein

lunch: sandwich with bologna and turkey or chicken, sometimes mayo, no chips

snack: popcorn or a bannana if I didnt have one earlier, sometimes another OJ/protein drink

dinner: whatever the lady makes, which is usually pretty healthy and fairly well rounded, though its a crap shoot cause sometimes its beans and franks or McD’s or pizza.

 

the oatmeal is good, the powder is good, the muffins I think are ok, the bannanas might be giving me gas, I think the sandwich is ok, the popcorn could be changed to something better like another sandwich maybe, I was thinking another protein shake for first breakfast might be good, something with oatmeal and PB and yogurt maybe.

I might also just need to stick to this diet better, and the weekends are hard cause i am not at work to stick to this, thats where I fail I think.  the tough part is having enough energy in the mornings for workouts without getting too full before the workout, a big shake and coffee and bannana before a workout is a lot to have in my belly, even if I get about an hour to digest it before I hit the gym

cardio morning

45min on the bike this morning, average of 125bpm heart rate.  I did NOT want to work out when I got up, so much that I sabatoged myself 45min, so I didnt get a breakfast and rushed through feeding baby boy, and "made time" on the way into the gym.  but I got there and got it done and I feel better for it, though I dont feel good yet.

feeling a bit down

I am just not hitting the weights so hard this week, I want to, but I just dont have the strength after leaving them alone for half a week. I might also not be hitting enough nutrition in the morning before I work out, and I am eating less, and no or almost no coffee, so those might be hurting me in the gym.  but, when I seem to find a diet that works well for power in the gym, it also contains gas out my ass, and its hard figuring out a comprimise I can get behind

got lazy for the holiday

yup, didnt work out for 4 days, laid around and read, though I didnt eat TOO bad.  but I lost a bunch of strength and gained some fat, not happy about that but it should be all set by friday, and I have a whole month to shed it for christmas

dont know if I will be able to do it tommorrow

since this is a short week for me, I’ve been packing it all in 3 days, so instead of that nice restfull cardio day in between liftings, they are each day.  I dont know if I can do that tommorrow, cause normally I have 3 days between chest workouts, and since the 10×10 is so draining, I typically NEED all that.  so now I have just today between chest workouts…. might be hard to do tommorrow…. but I’ll try anyways, I’ll try hard, and get some more sleep tonight than I normally would if I can.  my legs should be just fine to go hard on the squats, I skipped monday because of injury and today feel better so tommorrow should feel great

Didnt wanna, but did

I didnt want to work out this morning, the weather was starting to get nasty, I knew I would loose a bunch of time at work getting snowtires on, I was tired and didnt have any coffee…..  but I did anyways and I feel really good now.  I got through all my pullups at the same assist, which iswhere I only got through 6 sets last week, so thats progress.  and my knee feels so much better today as well, I skipped my deads yesterday and iced it at home, and that helped a lot, will be doing it again tonight

diet and flatulance

I’ve been concerned that my protien powder was giving my stomach problems and flatulence, but this morning I had both before I took my powder, so I dont think its that.  it might be the bannana and yogurt I eat before working out, or even the coffee.  I doubt its toast with PB on it.   though the last two days of work last week I had had icecream the night before, and last night I had some icrecream too, that could do it maybe.  I will cut the icecream (very little anyways) and keep the rest the same and see if that helps.  maybe I am starting to be lactose intolerant
