new measurements and hit the gym hard

well, had the wife measure me last night, grew in some areas, shrunk in others, I think the shrinking was just bodyfat, thats what I’ll tell myself.  Then she was kind enough to take some progress pictures of me, and do it with a straight face while I attempted posing.  I looked at the pictures afterwards and realized just how nice she was to be serious about it, cause I am still very pudgy, I laughed pretty hard and she did too but told me not the be discouraged.  Told her I wasnt,  probably just try harder and I know it will take time.  I dont know if I will post those right now, cause I’d kinda rather them as "hey look what I used to look like" photos once I get all buff and such.  but then again, I might, can’t today anyways cause I dont have my MP3 player which is a reader for my phone card.

so anyways fueled with knowing what I look like without a shirt on and some new measurements, I hit the gym pretty hard this morning, kinda working out some other frustrations as well.  warmed up with some very light squats and db mill and bench presses and curls and db rows, basically I grabbed a couple 15lbers and went to town moving around very quickly to get moving and ready to go.  then I threw a 45 on either side of the leg press sled, did about 10, then threw on a couple more plates, then did another 10, then threw on a couple more plates, did 20, threw on a couple more plates (now at 360lbs which is about 1/3rd what I did in highschool) and did another 10 for 2 sets.  now that I was nice and warm and blood moving I did some assisted dips and chins, 3 sets each at 130lbs assist.  that was tough, then grabbed a couple 30lb DB’s and hit the mil press for a couple sets, then hit the showers.

gonna hit myself with some protein and oats for breakfast and no idea for lunch, though it IS my "fast food day"

missed monday, hit it harder today

monday was not a great morning, sunday was a very great and very long night, so I paid for it monday morning but thats ok, I hit the gym harder today, we shall see how it works out through the week.

I’m gonna try to get my lady to measure me today, its been a bit so I might as well, just to check progress

gotta figure out a diet

I need to figure out how to get most of my calories from protien, then carbs, and very little fat, I wanna do a 60/30/10 macro, I think that will work, or maybe a 50/40/10 would be more attainable.

the tough part is figuring out how to do that cheeply, with food I can make at work or is easily made and brought in, and working with what the wife makes for dinners.

I wanna maintain the same weight and just convert the gut into muscles.  then maybe I’ll worry about getting bigger.

but I am not nutritionist and all the information on the web is so hard ot figure out and peice together, and I cant afford to have a nutritionist figure this stuff out for me…

whats a guy to do?!

 

good workout this morning

did bench for the first time in a couple weeks, and the first time in the new program, so I was suprised when 120lbs was tough, but there is more than 3 times the repititions so I guess thats to be expected.

wrist no hurty

wrist felt much better after a good rest over the weekend and some ace bandage time.  so I could do some incline chest presses and seated rows, then of course some ab work as well.

found some more protien powder as my old stuff was all gone, this stuff is much better.

stupid wrist

my wrist still hurts, I could even pick up 10lbs to start my shoulder flys this morning, though it only hurts in one way, I can still do pull ups and bench press if I want, I really hope its not actually broken.

so anyways this morning I did cardio then abs, and hopefully my wrist will feel better tommorrow

sore!

all weekend I could barely move my arms, the tendons at the elbow for the biceps were so very tender, I could barely pick up my son and hes just a baby.  today I am good though.

workout this morning was 5×10x40lbs incline DB press, 5×10x115lbs seated row, 5×10x10lbs weighted decline full situp

first day on new program

Friday, September 7th, 2007

got up early, enjoyed riding in before all the slowpokes were awake, got to the gym and did my workout.

5×10 dips and chins/pullups with 160lb assist.  the last set of dips needed 175lb assist, then 2×20 crunches and 1×20 decline situps. 

I feel like I’ve worked out but nothing hurts or is achy, so I think this might work better
