"To be a competitive, long distance runner. To lift lighter with more more reps, to keep the lean, mean look. Although, another 10-15 pounds of muscle would be nice!:)"

Bummed out :(

November 23, 2009

So, I have been training for the Turkey Trot, an 8 mile race on Thanksgiving morning, in Dallas. I feel like I am more than ready to run it. However, I just realized after balancing my checkbook, that I will not be able to afford the entry fee…ughh! :(

Times are tough, and training is limited because of the physically demanding nature of my job (overnight stocker), and taking care of my son on my days (nights) off. I had been working extra hard to prepare for this race though. I’ll just have to suck it up and keep at it. There will be plenty of other racing opportunities in the future.

Running- My Passion Rekindled

November 11, 2009

So anyways, I took a break from bodyspace, but now I am back after some serious soul searching, and a change of direction. I asked myself the question, "If I had to give up one of two things, running or lifting weights, which would it be?" Upon answering that question (running is what I couldn’t live without), I rediscovered my passion, joined a local running club, and have been training on and off for a couple of months now. I have accepted the fact, that I will probably never be as big and buff as alot of the other guys on this thing; but the best part about this, I am okay with it! I have been told time and time again growing up that I had a runner’s build, and you used to get sick of it. Now, I take it as a compliment, and just want to be the best possible me that I can be. I will still do the weights too from time to time, it will just be more to compliment running- which I am now addicted too!;) Anyways, glad to be back; and its so nice to see some of my fellow gym rats still at it- lol! More to come…Later!:)
