Question about insulin…
I have been doing research like crazy but i cannot seem to find the answer for my question.
Insulin is a storage hormone, so if insulin is not present, is it possible for carbs to be stored as fat?
I ask this because i am type 1 diabetic, and i am cutting down, so my carbs are lower and i have been having some low sugars before bed, so i have to eat carbs before bed to bring it back up, and i dont want them to be stored as fat!
if you can help me out it would be much appreciated!
thanks
steven

i don’t know about all that, but it seems you are stuck anyway. you have to keep the carbs flowing either way.
stay well.

It seems to me that when your blood sugar levels are low, it would take alot of sugar to raise that sugar to a normal level AND fill up your glycogen stores so much that your body starts storing it as fat. I’m not a doctor but your health should come first. There are some serious side effects to Diabetes if you just ignore your blood sugar levels. You can add some protein with the sugar right before bed and maybe try to spread it out more throughout the day so at night you don’t have such a low reading.

yea im not stupid and trying to totally ignore carbs
im doing this smart, but i dont like consuming carbs late, if i have to i will, but i just dont know if they just end up floating in my blood stream, or if they are stored.
