wow it’s been a while since i’ve posted. i haven’t had access to my computer all summer and senior year is kinda stressful with applications right now… OKAY! summer synopsis: i lifted once or twice a week just maxing out, and i got a lot stronger. i also ate like a monster, i went up to 204 and looked like shit..i dieted for 3 weeks prior to school and started running (sprints and distance ) again and lowered my weight. I am still running (anaerobically) to try and stay as cut as possible. i need to take some new pics STAT. Almost all of my lifts are up except for bench. im stopping taking protein powder and i’m just going to increase my whole food protein intake. I will continue to take BCAA’s and creatine… blahhh i hope stopping the protein isn’t a bad idea. My new training regimen now that school has started is mon- chest and bis Wed- legs and shoulders Fri- back and tris, Sat- Sprints

i took about a week off heavy training and i feel a lot better as far as energy and strength go. I hit the weights hard today and I really feel it. I started doing calves every day while taking two day breaks in between every workout day in my routine. hopefully i will see some new gains coming back from the break, hopefully a few pounds a month for the rest of the summer. I’ve been eating a LOT and ive already gained a few, but i feel like i need to slow down so i dont put on too much fat…

i’ve been consistent with HIT and ive seen quite a bit of growth in my upper body as well some strength increases, and my legs have gotten quite a bit stronger but not any bigger(yet?). i started doing sprints on my off days and got some times for the 100m and i am a lot faster than the last time i got timed (about a year ago. i think the squats have really made the difference in my speed…i also lowered my carb intake and dropped my water intake(oops) before finals and got down to about 176, completely dry/empty. i started eating and drinking again and my weight went back up pretty quickly but its mostly water. My new goal is to stay at 7-8%bf and get to around 195-200lbs for senior year. I really like HIT but i feel like im completely drained on workout days and i may be overdoing it…maybe its time for a break from HIT i will have to search the forums for a new routine…

after only 3 chest workouts i am seeing new striations on the middle of my chest and i was able to get 295 up 6 times on my own, with help balancing on the 7th. My back has made some progress as well, except the lat pulldown machine isn’t heavy enough anymore because i can do the full stack over 12 times..my next back/chest day I will try doing pullups with a weight belt instead so I can lower the amount of reps. I’m afraid the weight may swing too much? We’ll see…

I did chest/back on saturday. Chest didn’t go so well but back was awesome. I’m very sore in both areas. Today was another leg day. I did only squats and I did 455 10 times on my own. I wasn’t as tired feeling as nauseated after this workout and I did notice a drammatic power increase. I’m working out more often than HIT recommends, but the workouts are VERY short and I’m taking almost a week between every body part workout.

WOW! I did legs today and I could barely walk to my car when I was done. I vomited after my workout, but I feel it was very productive. It’s great not doing all those extra sets. I was completely burned out after starting with a set of squats. I got 405 11 times and got some help for the 12th rep. I’ll try 455 my next leg workout.

I just read Mike Mentzner’s HIT Book from cover to cover last night/ today, and I feel like this may be my ticket to some new gains. My gains have slowed down a bit and I have hit a plateau on several lifts. I will be moving from my 6 day split down to a 3 to begin with, and then I will progress to only 1 workout a week. I will try to update weekly/biweekly….wish me luck
