Today I hit the basement and worked my upper body as a whole like I always do. I generally stick to heavy weight and compound movemments, you know presses and rows a few pull-ups. On my legs I do a lot of squats, deadlifts, lunges, and a few leg curls. My workuouts are really intense and last about an hour to an hour and a half. What I’m trying accomplish out of all this is real functional strength. Strength that you can uses in everyday like picking up a box or fighting the enemy in my business. I just want to know can you really get an intense workout as well as real functional strength from doing bi’s and tri’s or calves and chest? If this is working for you then keep on, hell its working. I’m not here to knock anyones workout and be no means am I an expert but is this type of training doing it for anyone?

The past two days the scale has been leaning to the right of 170. Man that makes me feel good. I’ve always been light and now I’m approaching 175. I set my goal to be 180 but maybe I’ll raise it. I don’t know. I’ll keep lifting heavy and eating and see how I feel at 180. But as far as size and strength it’s a good time for me.

I’ve always been a skinny Black Dude. Body fat has never been a problem for me. All the skinny Black Dudes I know were all born with 6-packs.(I know I generalizing big time) So its kinda embarrassing for me not to have a 6-pack. But what can I say… I’m working on it. recently I’ve been work the abs like everyday. 2 different exercise chosen almost at random for 200 reps each.(I may do 3 sets if weighted or upside down or just bang the reps out) I got the idea from the martial arts guy on the bsn website cause he has great abs. But I think its been working for me. I going to keep it up for as long as results are coming in.

Ok I’m new to bodyspace and I’m starting to have a problem. During my workouts I find myself on bodyspace or taking photos for bodyspace. Its beginning to be distracting. My ideal of a workout is getting in the bassment handling business and getting out. Lately its been do a set take a pic. I’m going to leave the cam and macbook alone while I workout for awhile. Does anyone else have this problem?

I have felt much stronger these past foew weeks and I have moved up the weight I generally workout with quite a bit. I tell you I’m feeling pretty good right know.
