You know you are a figure competitor when…

Someone sent me these and they apply for Figure & Fitness girls . But some of them are so true for Male Fitness models!!!  I could not stop laughing when I read it !!

 

1) For a few days each year your toilet seat is brown and this time it isn’t your husband’s fault.

2) You can honestly say you have spent more on a bathing suit than your wedding dress

3) Six inch clear hooker heels is your footwear of choice in your own home (and not just in the bedroom)

4) Someone asks about the man (or woman) in your life and you tell them that Gym is fine

5) You have two sections in your wardrobe. Contest and Off season…they are not mix and match

6) Your top three priorities on any given day: Workout, Eat Clean, Check the fitness forum board (Not necessarily in that order)

7) You can name any pro figure competitor by seeing her butt alone

8) When someone wants to take your picture, you immediately spread your lats, tighten every muscle in your body, point your fingers and SMILE

9) You take more pills daily than your 80 year old grandmother

10) Your idea of dressing up is taking your hair out of the ponytail its been in for a week

11) You have had someone close to you, hide food from you in your own house.

12) An easy day is lifting and only 1 cardio session

13) Instead of carrying a Gucci purse you accessorize with a Coleman cooler

14) Waking up so sore you can barely move puts a smile on your face

15) You can’t do any work because you are to busy counting down the seconds until your next meal

16) The faint smell of Pro Tan gets your heart pumping faster than your man’s cologne or woman’s perfume

17) You leave a little trail of Splenda packets, tupperware, & empty water bottles everywhere you go

18) Your significant other makes you pee in the guest bathroom because every meal includes asparagus

19) You consider Beano an essential part of your supplement regimen

20) Your jaws are sore because you can’t stop chewing sugar free gum

21) You spend at least 5 minutes grilling your server at a restaurant, and another five minutes re-writing the menu until you’ve got a meal that meets your diet’s specifications…and then you devour it in less than 60 seconds flat  —- That’s so me !!!

22) You consider a day when you only have to make ONE trip to the gym a luxury

23) You think about having "relaxed hands" and sticking your butt out while standing in line at the grocery store (Hey, a girl’s gotta practice her posing)

300-rep workout

Hello again,

After reading a lot regarding growing muscle and lean mass, I have come across this great article. It talks about the 300-rep workout used to train the actors for the movie 300. With a bit of imagination and understanding of what they are trying to do , you can modify it to your needs.

I can tell you that needing to maintain a lean look the entire year, the concept of light-mid weight, high reps, and no rest has come across my readings more than once. I incorporated that concept into my routines and have noticed a huge difference!!!

 Another product that used that concept is the NXLABS Ripped System. They have a book that comes with the product and describes a series of routines for all body parts that will stimulate your hormonal production… 

I have used it many times last year and just love it !! it’s really well thought-out product!!

Well, it’s almost Christmas and this is the perfect time for a review of 2007 and some expectations of 2008.

Let’s see…. I did 6 shows this year:
1. 2007 Fitness Hollywood – Model America Championship - Miami, July 2007 – 28th Place - http://www.musclemania.com/results07.htm
2. 2007 Ancient City Classic – July 28 – 1st place on my class
3. 2007 NPC Dexter Jackson Classic – August 4 – 6th place on my class
4. 2007 FAME Hollywood – Zac Titus – Muscle Model Division – September 16 - 1st place
5. 2007 FAME World Tour – North American Championships – Miami, November 02 – Pro Muscle Model Division – 4th place & Fitness Model Division – 2nd Place
6. 2007 Universe Weekend - Model Universe Championship – Los Angeles, November 16 – 11th Place - http://www.musclemania.com/results07.htm

WOW… I went thru all that, dieting for 9 months straight with at most a week break and came out a better person than before !!!  The first few months were the hardest part of the diet !!!  really hard… now, I almost prefer eating clean than all that junk that makes you full and yucky!!! Very interesting outcome actually…    But am I special for behaving like that??   Not really!!  In Miami for my first show there were some 200+ contestants and in LA there were easily 150+.    That tells me there are a lot of people like me out there!!!! 

With all that being said, what’s next for the new year:

At least 2 FAME shows and 1 Model Universe (I figure that if I got 28, in July , 11 in November, the odds are in my favor to go top 10…   who knows !?). Also,  I’m very excited to be working on a Fitness modeling show for Jacksonville !!   It will be a wonderful show!!!
