I’m feeling so much better, I edited my goals to eliminate the part about "short term health problems." I still notice that after eating badly, my upper right quadrant goes numb/tingly and starts to hurt, radiating from there to my right side as food digests.
I am so glad that the Holidays are over. Most of the items that tempt me are out of the house and out of the office lounge. Vendors always send so much junk food around the holidays, that this year I had to devise a plan to keep away from all of the Ferrrero Rocher balls, brownies, cakes, muffins, chocolates, chocolate covered pretzels, and other junk. So, an office coworker (who used to scoff at my healthy eating habits but now has jumped on board with eating healthy and working out) and I made a bet NOT to touch the junk, and whoever touched the junk had to buy a protein smoothie for the other one.
HE, being the newbie to healthy eating, was all charged up about eating healthy and did not touch any of the junk. But he also admitted he treats himself to huge Cold Stone Creamery milkshakes every week, whereas I don’t give myself access to any junk at home (with the exception of my mother in law’s shortbread cookies and my mom’s apple pie!!! Argh!).
So, long story short, I owe him THREE protein smoothies!!!!!!! In retrospect, none of the goodies were worth the calories or the 3 smoothies I now have to pay up in 2008, but I am glad I had the punishment - otherwise I would have eaten more of those goodies. Those same goodies that (along with the bagel cart guy) caused my weight gain last winter!!!
