July Time

Monday, June 30th, 2008

Worked out last night,  about a 8 out of 10 for some reason.  Oh yea, the shoulder was acting up.  Did some cardio for the first time in a long time.  Did sprints on the treadmill,  should have used my better running shoes.   Tonght will most likely be the chest and tris.  Will do ab work first,  need to try and concentrate on the bench.  See muscle grow,  see muscle grow,  see muscle grow.  Till next blog,  bye..

Workout was shorter,  but I left the gym feeling green and with a wet t-shirt.  LEG night.  Did my walking lunges 3 sets, leg presses and whatever you call the machine you lay on and hit the backside of you legs (155lbs a PB).  Also did one Dragonflag and my abs started to cramp.  Whats with that.  My abs will be awesome if I ever drop my bulk coat.  I can feel they are improving, greatly.  I’m not eating right and I’m down to 197lbs, staying at 200 requires a concerted effort.  Will try to workout tonight upper body.  Till next blog, Bye.

Worked out last night, got sideswipped by the workout talkers.  Managed to get a good pump on the triceps.  Need to find a new workout or just go heavy (low reps) on the current one.  Arms are getting somewhere. Starting to feel some mass.  Still hanging around 200lbs, if I don’t eat right I’m down to 196 before you can say "scat".  Cardio still on the skids, but I’m not shamed about my midsection yet.  Won’t workout tonight, except some pushups at home.  Till next blog, Bye.

June Progress

Not sure what to think.  Mirror (midsection) looks good one day and not so good the next.  I’m not lifting the weights I should be, because of my shoulder.  I can’t do anything about that so I do what I can.  Did lat work yesterday and felt good about everything.  Tonight I’m just using my home weights and working the  biceps, and some pushups. Sitting around 198lbs give or take some water weight.  Stopped the creatine for this month.  Till next blog, Bye.

Leg night

Once a week I do legs.  I managed to get a good workout in.  Still not comfortable with squats so I use the machines. The gym was more crowded than usual, but still had the leg stuff to myself.  Was still a little sore from last weeks lunges so I went with 45 lbs.  DId my stairclimber on my toes, always warms me up.  Will try to workout tonight, after watching a couple of workout videos. It really got me motivated last week. Till next blog, Bye.

Second week of 200lbs

Still keeping the weight around 200lb.  which is great for me.  Really starting to notice I’m getting somewhere with all this.  Shoulders are not soft but solid.  Haven’t worked the bench like I have wanted,  due to soreness again.  Biggest change has been doing the wide grip chinups.  I’m also working the triceps alot more than I’ve ever done.  Midsection still pudgy but I can bring that in fairly fast.  Really not doing cardio, but I’m breathing hard and sweating like a pig thru my workouts. Got a lot of, "Have you been working out?" questions this weekend.  Till next blog, bye.

Wheels

Yesterday was wheel day.  walking lunges ……..  60 dumbbells.  argh.  I was beat beyond beat when I left. Looking green way more than once or twice.  Laying off for 2-3 days.  Till next blog, Bye.

Motivation

Nothing like watching the pros do an arm workout and then running off to the gym.  Had a great arm workout, first I did the arm wake up its time to work.  Then went heavy for 3 sets of as many as I could do at 90lbs (preacher curls).  I never just do arms but I’m trying something different.  I also did my modified German Volume training 10 sets of 10 dips.  I have to remember to watch more videos.   Till next blog, bye.

Fast walk

Well,  I’m trying something different at the gym.  Instead of jogging on the treadmill for 2-4 miles I did a medium clip (3) walk.  Supposedly this is suppossed to burn fat and not what ever carbs you ate that day.  Well I did 30 minutes of the      (3) walk and my heart rate never went over 100 bpm.  I will try this for a month maybe 2 times per week.  I’m a just a toenail weight away from 200lbs, and trying to hold this until my abs show.  I also did 3 sets of 10X30lb dumbbell one-arm clean and press and some other stuff (forearms). This week

Worked out last night, after over eating.  Not sure what I was going to do, but managed to get chinups and declined bench a good run.  The mirror check is ok,  I’m still working on staying aound 200lbs.  Tonight I’m going to do some fat burning cardio for 30 minutes and then forearms and calves, maybe some ab work.  Lost direction a little, but still using machines instead of freeweights as much. Will start eating pbj around 3:00 to keep me from getting hungry.  Stil eating a good breakfast and so so lunch.  Energy level has been good, usually give out on workout because I’m beat.  Till next blog, bye.
