I need to wake up and get smart

Even though my waist has stayed the same my weight has shot up. Yes I am gaining muscle but last night I tipped the scale at 300 pounds. My waist is still 42 which is not good at all. I need to wake up and start more cardio and less power lifting. I still meet military standards but I am worried about my health and the fact that one day soon I will not meet the standard and potentially get some sort of chronic illness I don’t want.

Let me clarify since I didn’t in my last post. I do not meet the weight standards by far since it is I think 227 for my height. I make the fitness standards as my run time for 11/2 miles is around 11 minutes and I max out all other aspects of the test.

Recognizing that you need to lose body fat as well as be strong is the first step. With your level of fitness already so high you’ll have no trouble with more cardio. I guess eating right will be the area you have to work at. It’s not easy to learn new eating habits, but there’s a lot of info and support on this site. Good luck!

I agree with you 100%. My eating habit is the worst. Thank you

Yeah I’ve really been watching my diet and it has made a world of difference. It’s a pain in the ass but I’ve started keeping a food journal so I can see in writing exactly what I’m eating as far as calories and protein. Otherwise it’s just a crap shoot!
