My goals for 2008
I always heard that dreams only become goals when you write them down so here goes.
1) To turn my depression into motivation.
2) I currently weigh 288 pounds and when it turns into 2009 I will weigh 220 pounds or less.
3) To excel even further in my military career than I already have.
4) Clean up my poor eating habit.
5) Up my cardio weekly.
6) Blog more on here to monitor my thoughts and progress.
7) Lastly, work on my depression by getting in better shape.

Thank you for your comment. On a sader note, I was just informed that one of my best friends and fellow officers died today. I will not allow this to be a setback even though I am very saddened.

Vinny.. Prayers and thoughts be with you through these sad times.. if he died in the line of duty you know he died doing what you all believe in.. and is is one of the reasons I thank you all for my Freedom as often as I can.. Noone knows what day will be their last.. Vinny find peace to carry on as he would want you to remember him for who is was.!! Take his strength and make it your own!! Hugs in the new year!

7 pounds lighter than what I was. It is mostly water weight I am sure but the food that I am eating is definately 1000 times healthier that what I was consuming.
Had 3 great back to back workouts as well.

My friend I feel your pain believe me. I would suggest you print out these goals and keep them in a place where you can refer back to them every single day. Also my sympathies on the loss of your friend and comrade in arms. I wish you all the best in 2008.

I am confused as to why my knees can’t handle any squatting but I can do sets of 10 with 750 pounds on leg presses. This just seems odd to me.

I had two consecutive back-to-back outstanding workouts after a short layoff. I worked 12 days staright and was completely drained so I took a couple of days off and went back yesterday to do a chest/tri workout and a back/bi workout today. Felt absolutely wonderful.

Hi Vinnie, you rated a couple of my pics so I came to check out your profile.

I battle Depression too, it’s made life very very difficult for me. To see a man brave enough to even admit that he has it is amazing and I am glad that you are working hard to fight back.
My heart goes out to you, I can’t imagine how hard it must be to lose a friend and comrade. Remember to let yourself grieve, even if it’s just a little.
I am glad that I found your profile, you have inspired me.
Cheers,
Mandy

That’s great to record the goals… otherwise they just fade away.
I posted this utube to my BS. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obdd31Q9PqA
Hope your wife has found time to accompany you to the gym lately.
Working out - the one healthy way to thwart or lessen depression. Good luck.
