5k runs in Boise??

Just wondering if anyone knows any upcoming 5k runs in the Boise, Idaho area?? Since tearing my tricep I am going to start sprinting and running.

Chest workout! Another great day in the gym.

Today’s chest workout went great! Haven’t been adding anymore weight, just kind of hit a plateau and staying at 189lbs. It’s so hot here that my appetite seems to be diminishing as well. So my workout started with flat bench w/ dumbbells 100lbs.x10 reps, 110×10reps and 120×8reps! That was the first time I attemped pushing the 120’s, not to bad! Next I went to Incline w/ dumbbells 90×10reps, 100×8, 100×7. Then over to seated machine flys 120×10, 150×10, 165×10 and 180×10. Next to decline dumbbells 80×10, 85×10 and 90×10. To end the night I did laying chest flys with dumbbells and started with 35×10, 40×10 and 45×10. Inbetween each exercise I worked in some kind of abs whether it was hanging leg lifts, decline situps or sidebend obliques. Overall a great night in the gym!=)

Amazing workout! Set two PR’s for myself today!

So I started my leg workout today with squats. I set a person record (PR) today squating 405×10reps with a spotter and getting the complete motion! No Cheating! A** to grass! I was pumped up after doing that and continued my workout with reverse leg curls and did 3 sets on that machine. I then went to the leg press sled and started doing work on that! I was just putting plate after plate on the rack and decided to shoot for another PR. I ended up pressing 810×10reps with spotters on both sides just in case. Way excited after that because next week I will continue to push myself! I then went to dumbbell lunges and did 3 sets of 20 reps/10 to each leg. Then to single leg extentions for 3 sets, and to close off the workout with seated calf raises for 3 sets. All in all a great workout tonight and a much needed off day tmr before I bust into my chest routine on wednesday and shoot for 115lb dumbbells for 10 reps! Strength Decreasing!?

So I have recently changed up my diet and started to cut weight to shred up for my first contest on the 26th.  I have been noticing that my strength has decreased quite a bit in the last couple weeks! I am curious to know if this is normal! It’s a little frustrating in the gym but I am accepting it lol. If anyone has any incite on this please comment back and let me know!

Started the workout off with squats, 4 sets heavy weight and 8-10 reps. I started with 225×15 reps, 315×10, 365×10 and 405×6. Next to the Leg Press sled and started with 450×10, 540×10, 630×10, 250×50 lol. That last set burned like no other! After leg press I went to reverse leg curls or hamstring curls. I did 4 sets of that, 70×10, 80×10, 90×10 and 60×30. Next went to leg extension/free weighted. 25 plates on each side for 10reps, 30×10 40×10 and 20lbx15 each leg. Next was dumbbell lunges with 45’s for 3 sets of 10 to each leg. After lunges we went to the seated calf raises free weight and started with 55lbsx10, 80×10 and another 80×10. Inbetween sets we worked in multiple different ab routines. Did at least 4 sets of hanging leg lifts for 10 reps, decline crunches for at least 5 sets of 25 reps with switching it up between normal and side to side. That pretty much about sums up my workout for today and also I am doing 45 min. of the stairstepper twice a day to try and get some definition in my quads.

Today was feeling like a good day in the gym for chest. As I grabbed my 70lb. dumbbells for a warmup they felt a little awkward. Well here is what my sets and reps went like…. please comment back and let me know what you think.

Dumbbell Press (4 sets) - 70lbx10, 90×10, 100×10 and 110×10                   
                                                                

Dumbbell Incline Press ( 4 sets) - 75lbx10, 85×10, 95×10, 100×9

Dumbbell Chest Fly ( 4 sets) - 30lbx10, 35×10, 40×10, 45×10

Barbbell Decline Press ( 4 sets) - 225lbx10, 245×10, 265×7, 225×10

Machine Chest Fly ( 4 sets) - 135lbx10, 145×10, 150×10, 150×8

Inbetween each set I did a mix of about 400 situps: hanging leg lifts for at least 15 reps, incline situps for a minimum of 25 reps, and lying down leg lifts for a minimum of 25 reps 

That concluded my workout for the day and I say it was my best workout ever because of the weight numbers I put up. I did more weight on every exercise than I ever have.

How to go about cutting up my legs?

I was just wondering if anyone had any tips on how to go about cutting up my quads? I weigh in at about 185 at 5′7" and my upper is pretty decent. I have my first competition on April 18th… If it can be done within that time frame I’ll do it!  I do normal squats, close stance squats, leg extensions, reverse leg curls, BB lunges, leg press and a DB bent-over hammy workout for my leg day. Please help me out and post what you have done in prior events and everyday workouts.

Body Fat Percentage

I recently got a body fat pinch test at the gym on base here in Iraq.  The girl that did the caliper readings concluded that I was 3.3% body fat and the look on her face was priceless. Although I was excited to hear what my BF was I seem to think, from looking at other peoples photo’s, that I am probably not 3.3%. If you could possibly give me some insite to what you think I am I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks Kyle
