Excercise Physiology Vs Nutrition
As of right now I have a personal training certification from AFAA and I would like to get ACE and ACSM but I also want to get a degree. Someday it is my dream to own my own fitness center but that is in the future. There are 3 degrees I have considered.
1. Nutrition-Nutrition is such an important part in losing weight and being healthy. If you have an awesome program but don’t know how to eat you aren’t going to get anywhere. Also it would save you the hassle of sending them to a nutritionist. I think you can be a personal trainer without a degree but you can’t be a nutritionist without one. Also with how fat America is getting I would imagion this will be a real indemand job.
2. Exercise Physiology-Everyone I talk to says this is the degree to get. I keep hearing all the best personal trainers have a degree in this. I think it would help a ton especially after listening to people talk. I feel like I don’t know as much as i should. Even a minor in this would help greatly I think.
3. Business-This would be great for it i want to own my own gym some day plus it is very marketable if personal training falls though. Also if I wanted to be the manager at a fitness center as well as a personal trainer. I could always get this degree second. I already will have an associates degree from the Community College of the Air Force in hotel, fitness and restaurant management. That may or may not hold any weight and it could possibly help towards a batchlors depending on the college.
I was thinking maybe I could major in nutrition and minor in exercise physiology or maybe even double major.
I have a lot of reasearch to do yet.
Any inputs would be great

I’m doing Sports Management Bsc and I plan to double major with Business Mgmt, with those same intentions in mind…
