Nutrition

I finally managed to have a good nutrition day yesterday. Not a perfect nutrition day, but a good one. Old habits are hard to break. I ate too many carbs and not enough protein, so I have need to adjust things just a bit.

Friday Afternoon

July 17, 2009

Over the years Friday afternoon usually meant meeting some friends for Happy Hour and having a few beers and appetizers. Not anymore. I’m heading to the gym today with my 14 year old son to play some basketball and workout. Also, I discovered a site called www.fitday.com that has a pretty good food tracking system. I really didn’t know how bad my eating habits until I started entering everything into www.fitday.com. I’m sure everyone here is already aware of www.fitday.com and probably dozens of other good ways to track food intake.

Day 2

This is day 2 of no booze. I read someone’s post regarding the ill effects of booze and I figure I need to cut out the booze if I am serious about getting rid of my gut. There is a reason they call it a "beer gut". I will see what impact this has on my weight loss and muscle gain. I need to find my some gym friends instead of bar friends…

Starting out

June 23, 2009

I finally did the nasty deed of uploading pics to track progress. Yesterday I had 3 margs after work. a swiss cake roll and some cookie dough. It’s no wonder I look like I do. Today is day one of using this website to track my progress. I finally came to terms with myself and admitted to myself that my goal is really to look better! This seems like the best site to use to help achieve that goal.

Worked out at 5:30 am. Walked 1.75 mi. Jogged .25 mi.

pullups 10×160, 10×145, 10x 130

dips 10×160, 10×145, 10×130

situps 3×15 on a ball.

This is a pretty lame workout, but it’s a start. I want to keep it simple for now and focus on my nutrition.
