Working out with Dan

I went to the 24-Hour Fitness with Dan today and he showed me a bunch of exercises. He also suggested a 3×8 program split into body parts, so I’m switching to that for now. It uses some isolation exercises and machines along with compound freeweight exercises.

Protein powder before sleeping

I’ve started taking four scoops of rice protein powder at night with my ZMA. Dan recommended 60 grams, but that’s a lot of powder so I’ve been doing 48. I’ve read that the first four hours of sleep are when Human Growth Hormone is released, and when important muscle repairs occur. That process is apparently supported by the ingestion of a slow-burning protein just before sleep. Casein is the best kind, but of course it’s not vegan.
