87 days until my husband and I are in Jamaica. I love the count down. I just picked up teaching 2 spinning classes a week so this will be an excellent way to stay on top of my cardio and keep my legs looking awesome.
I think I’ve talked my better half into doing photos once we’ve hit our goals. It’s good motivation and we work damn hard on our fitness.
My workout schedule has been completely screwed up lately due to my son’s evaluations and appointments but the school year is almost over and we are all set for summer camp, so I’ll be able to focus more on me.
87 days and counting……

I was reading blogs and looking at pictures on the site last night and I’ve never been so inspired by the amazing women OVER 40 on bodyspace. What excellent role models and motivation they provide. Women like ChickenTuna, tkatmommie and sixzebra-wow, it’s awesome to know that this is what the 40’s look like.
I would love to have cool pictures like others do but I feel sort of shy about it. How do you get pictures like this done? I feel like it would be way to naricisstic for me to do it because I’m not a competitor, just an enthusiast.
What I love the most about the site is I can find role models based on my height and my target weight. It gives me a real world picture of what I can be.
Anyway, THANK YOU to all the great women and men who post and keep it real on the site.

Saturday night, the husband I go out and I give my ID to the door man. He stares at the ID, looks at me, stares at the ID again and tells me he can’t believe that that is really my age. I couldn’t have paid for that kind of reaction—-rock on healthy living and fitness! Although clean living and late nights don’t mingle so well and I was worthless all day Sunday.

Today will be an active rest day; off to coach and watch 8 year old soccer. Walk the dogs, clean the house and get ready for a date night with the love of my life (long over due).
I really want to say thank you to those people on bodyspace and bb who have welcomed me and sent me words of encouragement (especially about my personal life). I had a meeting yesterday with a mobile therapist, a therapist who comes into the house to help set up strategies for my son with autism. It was really comforting to get some simple advice and to remember that he’s just a little kid who processes things slightly differently and I still need to parent they way I parent my other ones.
I’m going to try and not get too off track tonight so I can crawl out of bed and make it to the gym Sunday morning but I’m really looking forward to some down time.

Today is a rest day; I need to get some recovery in these old joints. My husband and I are going to Jaimaca for my 40th birthday in July. I’m really starting to think about cutting for that trip. It’s not something that I need to do for any other reason than the thought of being at my peak for a milestone birthday. I’m okay being curvy and tone. I’m stronger than I’ve ever been and my cardio endurance is good enough to keep up with a 5, 8 and 15 year old.
I want my husband to be completely knocked out when I step onto the beach in my bikini on my 40th birthday.

I was reading an issue of M&F and found an interesting cardio/ab workout. My WOP and I are going to give it a go this afternoon, and silly me, I’m totally excited to try it. I find it incredibly difficult to make my abs sore although (you knew I was going to mention this), fit40 suggested searching "stomach vacuum" on youtube-yeah, well, that might make my abs sore. Do you think sucking your gut to your spinal column is really an adequate work out? I think they’re just trying to avoid crunches
Tomorrow is my off day and I’m really, really looking forward to it. Every muscle aches from my work outs this week. I’m doing the biggest loser competition at my job (although I only want to lose 5 lbs) and we weigh in on Friday mornings. I haven’t been watching my diet but and I’m lifting mainly with little cardio this week so I wonder what the scale will show?

My leg work out is a killer, I’m 48 hours post and my legs are SCREAMING. My lovely husband and I were talking about my diet this morning and he sweetly bitch-slapped me and recommended that I quit the carb loading at the end of the day. I come home from work and I’m usually starving. I eat very well and clean at work but when I’m at home things get chaotic with the kids, the dogs and the joys of family life.
I posted a thread under the female part of the forums asking for sample meal plans to get some real world ideas from other women. I read M&F and flex often but the menus are tailored for the big guys and gainers. It’s not always that easy to convert to a smaller woman’s needs. There are some amazing figures on bb so they’ve got to be doing some thing right.

I didn’t sleep well last night; I thought it was allergies and took an antihistamine before bed and was up every hour. My head feels like it’s in a bucket and I can’t figure out if I’m sick, tired or allergic…
Still went to the gym for back & shoulders today. I was moving a bit slower but still pushed through some good sets. Cardio usually opens up my sinuses but I’m on a time crunch today. My shoulders are looking excellent though. I’m a little concerned that I’m disproportionate (top and bottom don’t match). My measurements are good and my husband thinks I’m crazy but I still feel a little off. I want to make sure I look as good walking away as I do coming towards you….

Ok, this is strange but I love it when I lift so hard I puke! I know the dorks in the gym think I’m out of mind, that’s why I’m married to the anti-dork.
At the gym, I thought I was going to die doing my last set. I was shaking and sweating my ass off. YEEEHAW. Good times.

I’m swamped at work today with stuff I’d rather not deal with but need to. I have meetings, some contentious, for most of the day.
I’m hitting the gym after work for a heavy leg work out and some introspection.
Yeah! I think I’m going to get to work out with my husband tonight My 6′3" hubby keeps the creepers away from me and it’s awesome to have some time with him.
