progress…however slowly

I’m still making progress on my cut.  Slowly, but that was the plan.  Trying to preserve as much muscle as possible while draining as many fat cells as I can.  I can see progress, most days.  My body perception changes.  Sometimes I think, "not bad…" other times I think, "eeeek!!"  Right now I’m having a "not bad" time. :-)  

I hope to take 1 month progress pictures today.  I hope this doesn’t turn my "not bad" into an "eeeek!!"  My bodyfat is still about 23% so….I’m still a long way from goal. 

 

squats and scales

I think it’ll just be easier to squat than all the stuff I’d have to do instead.  Just do them and move one…. I’m tired of thinking about it.

And….of course I weighed.  I’m so pathetically addicted to those scales. :-(   145.6.  I’m trying to lose a pound a week, but up until a few days ago, the scales have just been all over the place.  I have lost about 4 pounds in 3 weeks….but it’s been a wild ride.  Who knows what tomorrow will bring.

I have something in mind to try for legs that has nothing to do with squats.  I’ll see where that gets me.  I just want well defined legs, I’m not looking for perfection, just something I’m happy with. :-)

My eating seems to go well when I keep the calories around 1550/ fats: 60-70 / carbs: 60-80 / pro: 135ish. And with that, I’d like to announce my all time low on the cut. 145.8 this morning! *happy dance* I was so hungry yesterday, but I had eaten what I could have and so I just drank more water, grudgingly, and was rewarded this morning for my self-control. *yay me.*  I’m starting off the week very happy! 

I’m not planning to weigh again until next Sunday or Monday.  I’m just going to stay on plan, and figure it’s working well. :-)

I really like the BGB method of training.  I like the 5×5s mixed with higher rep ranges/ fewer sets.  I feel like I’m getting the best of both worlds.  I’ve always believed in changing up exercises continuously, and I can still do that.  
My dream is to not have to do squats and still have the legs I want.  Any comments in favor of no squats will be well received. :-)
For my meals, it’s pretty much figuring my maintenance, dropping that by 100 on training days and 200 on off days, eating at least my goal weight in proteins, half that in fats and filling in the carbs.  I do keep carbs lower than was planned, but I like what I’m doing, I feel satisfied when I haven’t screwed with overfeeds and caused cravings to attack again. 
I’m seriously considering an intervention in order to break me of my addiction to the scales. ;-)   I’m not sure which would make me crazier, being obsessed with weighing, or being obsessed with trying not to. LOL
Tomorrow is total rest….aaahhhh….:-)

I started my first real cut on January 15th. So far, I haven’t really lost any weight. :-( My work-outs are good, but I do need to push myself harder. That’s one problem I have with working out by myself in my home gym…..I’m not as motivated to push myself. I have increased cardio. I hate cardio, so this is BIG for me. Actually, I’m not hating it as much as I use to. I got a heart rate monitor and that really keeps me going at a good pace. I’m feeling good, when my hormones aren’t wreaking havoc. Unfortunately they are now, so it was probably a very bad time to start this blog. I’m usually not this grumpy. :-)
