Hi, thanks for the comments. I appreciate your concerns. If I start feeling like what I'm doing is counter-productive I'll do something different. :-)

No food for 20 hours? With the way you work out I don't think I could fast for that long. More power to you!

BTW - I showed my workout buddy your profile and she was very impressed. She told me to make sure I stay on your good side :)

Fasting?? I've never heard of anyone using this strategy who wanted to lift heavier or lose body fat. You've got to feed your body good fuel consistently to keep your metabolism up so you'll burn the fat, have energy for good cardio and lifting sessions, and be able to grow some good muscle which also speeds up fat burning. If your body thinks it's starving it will actually try to conserve energy and your metabolism will slow down, which is not what you want! I think you'd be much better off eating small meals consisting of clean carbs and lean proteins several times a day, supplemented with some protein shakes. Sorry, but I see your fasting method as a guaranteed road to failure in the long-term, since it's not something you can keep up as part of a permanent, healthy lifestyle. Don't mean to be preachy, but I'm just repeating what others say and from what I know from personal experience to be true.

Stop being so hard on yourself! You look amazing and you're one of the most motivated people I know. Just THINK of how far you've come in the last 5 years! Maybe my standards are lower than yours, you're body does put me to shame afterall, but I think you're amazing. You'll never fall off the wagon for too long either. You love working out too much. Keep it up, I can't wait to see you in Sept. I'll try and keep up my blog better too. I think we both need a cheerleader ...

gimme a D
gimme an E
gimme a B...etc, etc, :)

You love the peanuts too huh? Me too. I used to sit in front of the TV with a jar of peanut butter and go to town. But it got to the point where I had to stop buying it altogether cause I couldn't control how much I ate. How vrazy is that? But at least we know not to buy it right?

Hey I feel your pain. Even though I'm not training for a competition, the desire to be really lean and cut is high and I want to have a killer body, come summertime, which is like now. I was doing really good until I went on a little trip over the weekend and, well you know how it is when you're traveling and when your friends bring snack that you wouldn't normally eat. Oh well right? Keep up the good work. You look awesome.
