2013 Bodyspace Spokemodel Search Semifinalist

http://www.tylermcpeak.com/news/2013-bodyspace-spokemodel-search-semifinalist/attachment/photo269/

11/7/2012 SHOT by Jason Ellis

Thank you everyone that took the time to vote for me throughout the
month of November!  I received an email yesterday letting me know that I
had made the top 20 for the spokesmodel search!  I couldn't have done
it without you guys so again THANK YOU
I've already switched over to cutting mode now just to be on the safe
side.  If I am fortunate enough to make the top 5 that means I'll get
to compete in LA  during the fit expo which is  Jan 19th weekend.   So
that puts me at about 6 weeks out right now.  Today was the first day
that I did a morning cardio session and it felt great.  I forgot how
good it makes me feel to get up and get my day started with some low
intensity cardio.  I will still be doing the HIIT program 3 days a week
but as an addition I will be doing low intensity cardio as well.

12/5/2012 - JUST DO IT!

Tuesday my training partner Erik and I hit legs with a ton of
volume!  I can honestly say that it feels like I havn't been training my
legs hard after that workout because the DOMS are INTENSE right now
lol.  We spent a total of 2 hours on the entire leg starting things off
with 30 minutes of calves.  Calves are still my weakest muscle group and
they are improving but just like everything else it will take time.  We
did some German volume training for squats which is 10 sets of 10 reps
and the thing that shocked me was that I was getting stronger towards
the last 3 sets.  100 total reps for squats is grueling and I'm sure
that has a big part to do with these crazy DOMS.  Erik texted me later
on in the afternoon saying his legs were still numb and he was so
thankful that i like to hit legs that hard.  To me there is no other way
to train.  Balls to the wall all the time!  Of coarse you have to be
smart and listen to your body too.  You need to know when to back off
and when you can go crazy.  Yesterday I felt completely drained from
that leg session so instead of training arms I ended up taking the
entire day off.  I'm glad I did because today I feel refreshed and ready
to train hard!  I think I'm going to go back to my old split of taking
every Wednesday and Sunday off...seems to work best for my body.

10 Days Out!

10/27/2012

With just 10 more days to go this final push will not only be exciting but also very tough. Keep in mind when the going gets tough you have a choice to either give up and live with the what ifs and regret or push through the pain and be confident that all the sacrifice and hard work will be rewarded. My energy levels fluctuate day to day and even though I'm still eating quite a bit of food the no days off from cardio really starts to take a toll on your body. For the past 5 weeks I have been doing 2 cardio sessions seven days a week. Just this past Wednesday it got bumped up to two 45 minute sessions to make sure I get rid of this last bit of fat. What I wanted to touch on real quick is that I'm sure some of you have read that the only way to get shredded and dry is to restrict yourself from sodium 24/7 follow low to no carbs and you can't supplement with creatine mono because it will bloat. I'm here to tell you all of that is BULL****. I eat a **** ton of sodium, lots of carbs, and take 10g of creatine mono everyday. I attest being able to do this by following a high volume weight training program and no skipping out on cardio sessions along with following a meal plan and never missing meals since the start of this past May. My training has been INTENSE through this whole process and I havn't lost any strength at all. I fly out from Nashville on November 6th and I shoot with Jason Ellis on Wednesday, Bill Comstock on Thursday, and Sonny Tong on Friday. The shoot with Jason will take place at a gym in Orange County and on Thursday I'll get to shoot on Venice beach if the weather permits and Gold's Gym Venice afterward! Friday's shoot with Sonny is for commercial/fashion style shots and that will be in OC as well. I'm extremely excited and I can't wait to get out there since I havn't been to Cali in 4 years!

After doing a lot of thinking on where I want to take my career within the fitness industry I have decided that I will be competing again in 2013. Yesterday I registered for the 2013 BODYSPACE Spokesmodel Search PRESENTED BY IRON MAN MAGAZINE. Voting starts November 1st so I'm going to need EVERYONE'S help voting daily to get me in the top 20..I REALLY WANT TO COMPETE IN THIS!! I'll be posting the links up to vote once it starts up! The online voting will be for the whole month of November. If I make it into the top 20 then a judging panel will decide who the top 5 are that will get to compete in person January 19th at the LA Fit Expo. So if that doesn't happen then my next plan of attack will be do decide which NPC Physique show I'll do and try to work my way up to get a pro card this upcoming year. All of that being said means I'm going to keep my shape I'm in now at least until I see if I make the top 20 and then by December 15 they will announce the top 5. If I don't get the opportunity to compete in the Spokesmodel search then I will have a short "offseason" like I was having before my prep for these shoots to gain some size and continue to make improvements to my weak areas and target my first physique competition.

Another Video done!

A couple of hours ago I wrapped up filming another video for my
membership section of my website.  As of right now I still don't have a
definite date when it will be launched because it's out of my control
now.  Hopefully sooner then later!  Earlier today I decided to check my
body fat here at the house on the digital calipers since I've been
getting that question a lot lately of what it is.  I did the 7 point
check and it came out to be 7%.  Someone posted on my face book that
these aren't that accurate and it can be + or - 6%..I know I'm not
1& lol and if I was at 13% I don't think I'd be able to see much
detail..so that being said I'm not sure how accurate this thing is but I
figured I was higher than that.  I'm sure it could be a couple points
higher but nonetheless I was surprised and happy.  I've never been this
size with this condition before.  Currently I'm still weighing 222lb on
an empty stomach in the morning and I'll get up to 226lb by the end of
the day.  The changes that Hany made this past week are already taking
into effect.  Tomorrow I'll be uploading a new video to youtube so make
sure to check that out as well.  Hope everyone has a great weekend I'm
going to kick back and watch the strikeforce fights tonight.

Recap of my Arnold Classic Weekend

On Thursday March 3rd I arrived in Columbus Ohio around 12 pm.  As
soon as I stepped outside I was hit in the face with bitter coldness
considering that on Wednesday it was about 70 degrees and sunny in
Nashville.

Arnold Classic Weekend March 5 2011 - The Whole Crew

Once I made it to my hotel, I relaxed for a bit then ran on the
treadmill for 30 minutes to get a really good sweat in.   Later that
night was supposed to be my first shoot with photographer Tauseef but
was canceled due to nerve damage in his neck causing extreme pain
shooting down his arm.  I spoke with him later at the expo and we plan
on working together at some point this year.  Friday morning I woke up
and ran on the treadmill for a 6 minute mile, got cleaned up and headed
to my shoot with http://www.arsenik.com/ wherehttp://www.brittanywalkers.com/ and I shot for cover tries for the Canadian publicationhttp://insidefitnessmag.com/.

Arnold Classic Weekend March 5 2011 - Brittany & Tyler

The shoot went great and I'm very excited to see if we can land a
cover!  I got some film footage of the shoot that will be up later on
this week.  After we got done I headed back to my hotel to meet up with
my friend Anthony that had just arrived.  We  went to the expo for a
couple of hours and enjoyed all of the free samples of a variety of
protein bars.   That evening a group of us went out to eat at http://www.marcellasristorante.com/ and I orders a flat bread pizza.  After several Irish Car Bombs (which was the first time I'd ever had one)  all of us went to http://www.thesocialroom.info/
to continue the night.  Saturday morning I enjoyed a couple of omletts
from the omlet station at the hotel then went to Life Fitness with
Anthony and trained Back/Bicep/Tricep.  This was the first time we had
worked out together in a few years and it was as if we had been training
together every week.  Both kept our head phones in and had an awesome
workout.  We did:

  1. Hammer strength pulldowns
  2. Standing DB rows
  3. Reverse grip pulldowns superset wide grip pulldown machine
  4. Hammer strength one arm row
  5. Standing barbell curl superset tricep dip machine pressdown
  6. Standing concentration curl triset with reverse cable pressdowns and reverse grip barbell curls

All of the extra food that I ate gave me a
great pump and lots of energy in the gym.  Shortly after, we went back
to the Expo and I had a meeting with Brian my webmaster and Steve Cook.
Being at the expo for a couple of hours was long enough for me given
the elbow to elbow amount of people.  That night the same group of us
went out to eat again tohttp://www.barriotapas.com/
and I had a piece of salmon and a braised short rib.  The good times
continued again at a couple of different places after dinner.  It was a
very fun and exhausting weekend.  I met a lot of great people, had an
awesome shoot and got to catch up with my good friend Anthony.

Food For Thought!

An Autobiography In 5 Short Chapters By Porsche Nelson

Chapter 1
I
walk down the street and there's a deep hole in the sidewalk, I fall
in, I am lost, I am helpless, It isn't my fault, It takes me forever to
find my way out.

Chapter 2
I walk down the same street and
there's a deep hole in the sidewalk, I pretend I don't see it. I fall in
again, I can't believe that I'm in the same place but it isn't my
fault. It takes a long time to get out.

Chapter 3
I walk down
the same street there's a deep hole in the sidewalk, I see that it is
there, I still fall in, it's a habit, my eyes are open, I know it's my
fault. I get out immediately.

Chapter 4
I walk down the same street there's a deep hole in the sidewalk, I walk around it.

Chapter 5
I walk down another street.

Chemically Enhanced vs. Natural

As you might have read in my previous article, Say No to JUICE, I explained my issue with not ever thinking I was big enough. So I wanted to put these digitals out there to show everyone the difference in my physique when I was chemically enhanced and now that I’m natural (with no photoshop). The digitals of when I was on steroids were taken near the end of my 8 week cycle. Ever since I had gotten into modeling in the summer of 2007 my initial goal and dream was to work with Muscle & Fitness magazine. In my head I figured I could obtain this goal once I was chemically enhanced. Little did I know that playing the size game is not the road to take. As you can see by the pictures I was still carrying quite a bit of body fat. I was relying on the drugs to do the fat burning instead of focusing on giving nutrition 100 percent and cardio 100 percent.
My manager at the time, Adam Silver of Silver Models, sent these to Muscle & Fitness and their response was that I needed to be tighter and leaner. This made me so frustrated because I couldn’t see myself and to me I thought I was good to go. But now looking back at these and seeing my condition I understand why I never worked with them. Through my short journey in the modeling industry it has been such a roller coaster of emotions and battles. Now that I’ve obtained a physique naturally and healthy and I feel like myself again, I’m setting out to do everything that I had ORIGINALLY intended to do when I first got into this industry. That is living a HEALTH & FITNESS lifestyle and to being an INSPIRATION to others and helping those wanting to achieve a healthy and fit physique reach their goals.
