Did first day of leg day today and holy cow! I could barely walk out of the gym. Actually, I would call it more of a shuffle. I’ll be entering the workouts later tonight. Check them out if you like. It was freakin hard!! Woot!

Ok, so we are pretty muchly done with the HST cylce and I’m just a little disappointed. I can see ’some’ results, but not like a expected. I think I know why and it’s no ones fault but my own. I have a very active lifestyle and I’d say that my metabolism is pretty high also. It has slowed a little with age, but not much. During the HST cycle I was trying to get all my calories from food sources. All clean at first and then I had to start eating less clean foods because that wasnt enough. Well…it turns out I guess that that wasnt even enough. My weight fluctuated wildly and my size increases are very minimal if any at all. I think I’m going to have to start taking some sort of gainer. All my other stuff is right where I think it should be (i.e. - protein and workouts and foods). Just not enough foods…. I cant eat that much, period. I could probably stand to drink a little more water also. Well, I’m gonna take a full week off and them max out again and start a new HST cycle with new exercises and with a gainer. We’ll see how that works for me. Suggestions are helpful.

Finished the 15 rep block of HST on Friday. It was definantly a beating, but worth it. It went from fairly easy to hard in a very short amount of time. 10 rep block starts on Monday and I cant wait! Should be great! I see a little progress so far, but I think it’s mostly just a little fat loss. I’ve been struggling with eating just a bit. I went from 165 to 160 and I’m sure it’s because I wasnt eating enough carbs. Ready for the next step and a little iron pumping now though!!

So I had a kickass workout today! Just finished up Dan John’s 40 day plan however I’m choosing to stop at 20. I need a little more variety and want some more volume. I highly recommend this program if you are in a rut and need to increase your strength. My max increased I every exercise I was doing and I plan on coming back to it in the future. I bet if I kept going that I would still see the same steady increases in weight. Gearing to start some HST training after a few days rest. Dont know if I can totally rest, but I’m gonna try. I might still have to go to gym to do something because I just cant stand it. I think I need to do to meetings….

Ok….there are some things that are considered acceptable and some that are not when one is in the gym so I’m going to vent for a moment. Everybody knows "that" guy that does curls in the squat rack. That one is obvious. This particular thing my workout partner and I saw in the gym today is probably more of an observation, but I found rather annoying so I’m caulking it up to poor practices. I’ve seen this guy before, but that was last semester. He disappeared for a while, but now he’s back. Now I have to watch his goofy ass do dumb stuff hogging up equipment again. the first time I saw this guy all he did when he would come in was "jump up" on the pull up bar and pull himself up to do a couple of half assed attempts at a plange and maybe a muscle up here and there and then pull himself up one more time before jumping down shaking the equipment. Some days he would come in wearing jeans like he was just walking by and thought, "thats sounds fun". I can only assume that this guy is or was a gymnast of some sort as a plange is a gymnastics skill. First of all, that equipment is not designed for that and secondly that is certainly not how one trains for something like that. It’s just annoying!! STOP IT! Today was a new one. He brought some ratchet straps and hung some rings from a pull up bar attached to one of the squat racks. Just like before he "jumped" up between them. I cant believe he didnt hit his noggen on the top of the pull up bar. He lowered down 1/4 of the way to an "iron cross" until his hands hit the uprights of the rack. "pointless" Then a fantastic "jump down" and a quick drink at the water fountain. I hope he doesn’t break a sweat or strain a muscle. A take off your fleece pullover!! It’s 100 degrees outside! What is the point of all this frustrated rabbling? Don’t be an idiot.

Recently had an annual physical assessment. One of the tasks was push-ups to a metronome at 80 beats per minute. I was able to eek out 78 with good form and equal distance. But that was it!!! I was pretty proud. Lets see if we can get to 100 next year.

I just wanted to say that I killed on deadlift tonight. Unfortunately I usually prefer to avoid deads all together and do something else, but not anymore. Maybe from now on I can have a little better form.
