Seeing Results

August 29, 2007

Well it has been over a month since I posted in the blog last, but I am truly seeing some great transformations. I have dropped a total of 63 LBS in 5 months and 18 percent body fat. I still have 20 percent to lose before I hit my goal. I have also been doing only about 40 minutes of cardio a day for 4 days a week since my training sessions changed a little bit. Now I do legs twice a day and have one day off completely. Diet has been coming along fairly well seems like if I have a cheat day now (which doesn’t happen very often) I see a bigger drop in weight loss the following week? Weird I know but maybe I haven’t been getting enough fat in my diet.

Anyway I just wanted to post some update with where I am at and I appreciate the support from fellow BB.com folks. Until next time

Dieting down and uping cardio

July 9, 2007

Ok So for the last week I have been in diet down mode I called a buddy who has been competing got a workout from him and diet detail along with cardio advice. Let me just tell you it has been much harder than boot camp was for me, and the fact that I am the only one pushing myself makes it hard at 5AM doing my cardio.

Here is what I am doing for the next 2 1/2 months I have a final weigh in on Sept 17th, and I am hoping to be at 225 with as little body fat as possible. I have also challenged myself to compete in my first BB comp by decemeber.

Morning 5 AM
30 minutes on elliptical
Meal 1: 7AM
6 egg whites
1 cup plain oatmeal, and 1 tsp of flaxseed oil

Meal 2: 9 to 9:30 AM
Protein Shake

Meal 3: 11 to 11:30 AM
1 Cup of salad with 2 Tbls balsamic vinger dressing
6 OZ turkey breats
Half an Avacado

Meal 4: 2 Pm
Protein Shake

Afternoon Work Out and Cardio:  3:45 PM to 5:15 PM
Half hour of cardio on elliptical
then weight training for about an hour depending on muscle groups.

Meal 5: 6 PM
Grilled Salmon
1 Cup of Salad same as lunch
1 veggie (green  beans usually)

Meal 6: 8 PM
Protein Shake

I am takin a 4 days on 1 off in wieght training and doing cardio 6 days a week minimum of 1 hour a day. The cardio is killing me I have never been the kind of guy who likes cardio but truly after the first week of this I all ready can see the outline of my ab section and my shoulders, chest and traps have gotten a lot more cut.

At this point I am getting pretty tired with work and school not to mention getting in time with the wife and kids, but it will all be worth it the first time I step on stage and my kids see what you can accomplish when you put in the time and hard work. Again on March 17th 2007 I weighed in at 277 lbs, and this morning I weigh 232 lbs July 9th 2007.

Any advice to those of you competeing would be greatly appreciated.

Well I am now 14 weeks into the weight and cardio training. I have totally changed my diet and in all I am down 42 LBS in 14 weeks. But what I am most happy about is my body fat has gone from a nasty 42 % down to 25. Which in 14 weeks I think is pretty good.

I have decided that I want to compete with in the my one year anniversary, I have a buddy a knew in highschool who is an accopmplished Body Builder and will be meeting with him on Thur. I hope to get some good info on what I need to do to get into competition phase just so I know how much work I need to be ready for. Also I think I will start my dieting out phase at 20 weeks.

I’ll return to update how my meeting goes with Ricki, and also what supplements I will be taking. Currently I am taking Novdex XT, NANO x9, The Burn, Omega3, MegaMen Sport, Vitamin C, and Whey Extreme Anabolic Protein.

Look forward to talking with anyone interested.
