Changes

Wow! So much has changed since my last entry I’m not sure where to start. Most of us know that significant change means lost focus. And I did. Among the changes are a move. I just found my new gym and I’m back at work but only after losing alot of my progress. I know, too, that alot will "snap back" as I jump back into it because I had made alot of progress and looked soooo hot I wish I could tell you how hot I looked. I….I just did didn’t I?

I spent alot of time at home just being with my family making sure everyone is adjusting to the move OK. It’s always hard letting go of my goals for awhile so I can focus on what really needs to be done at that moment but I’m proud of myself for doing it. I also know that if I just jumped back into what I was doing things would not have been as good as they are now.

Look for a progress pick from ole Jimmy as soon as my guns pump back up and my waist trims back down (4 weeks max). Because I don’t know if I mentioned it but man I was hot!

Phase II begin

Monday, May 26th, 2008

Going into the next 6 weeks I am reducing my carbs and better preparing my body for workouts with pre-workout supplement and post workout carb/pretein RTD that will not require me to balance the carbs and protein myself. I think this will help me begin to drop the fat and fluid retention so I can start to see the results of my hard work…which is now hidden under my cookie-thickened skin.

I will also be increasing my cardio slightly with the intention of looking really good in 6 weeks and actually posting my before and after pics for all to see. But not until I’ve got something to show! Also I can begin really good leg work now that my knee is feeling better. I’ve been nursing some pain that had limited me to leg presses and lunges which really limits results.
Just added Dymatize Xpand (creatine has not worked for me in the past but willing to try try again) and After Max to my diet and will skip the fat burner going forward.

It seems obvious now. My last post was an emotional response to the shocking pics. Maybe I watched too much Oprah. I will stay the course one more week because I am adding muscle (muscle good). Then I will reduce carbs to really bring results to the surface (adipose fat bad). This gives me 6 weeks to gradually cut (term used modestly) without losing the muscle I gained in the last 6 weeks. That should fix me. But it will also cause me to lose weight which I really don’t care to do.

After my 12-week program, I will run another cycle to bulk then cut. That should bring my weight back up. Any feedback from the more experienced and  accomplished out there?

Today I took some progress pics and I’m a little shocked. I don’t even look like I work out!

I have added some muscle. I see that clearly in the mirror. And I know I need to be patient but damn! I guess I didn’t realize how bad I had gotten.

Bottom line is I need to work harder, stay the course, and be pleased with my measurements. I will NOT be posting pictures until I actually get somewhere significant. I’m in denial and posting pictures doesn’t fit into my denial scheme.

For my first blog post I’ll do a simple, yet compelling, summary of what I am doing and why there are no current pics of me. First let’s address the pictures. The profile picture of me is one of me having a beer at my neighbors house a few years ago. It is what I’ll call a "standard" image of me. There are no newer ones because I am vain, shallow and prideful. I have spoken to my pastor about these foul traits, yet they persist. I guess what I’m saying is I’m out of shape and don’t like my present pictures. However, as soon as I am ripped up again and looking like the badass I am, you’ll see pictures of me! Oh yeah…and they will not be humble!

My training regimen is a workout I like alot that I found in Men’s Fitness called the T-Shirt Body Workout. Great whole body workout with a unique approach to arms and shoulders that works well for me. I have not yet planned what comes after this 8-week program. I would be interested in hearing anyone else’s experience with the program.
My greatest concern is getting a clean waist first while maintaining my muscularity then I’ll focus on adding some more muscle. Either way, when I hit the pool with my sexy ass wife and my little girl, the neighborhood chicks are going to be digging my world. Yeah, that’s what I’m about. (Not really. And there really are no chicks in the neighborhood. But my wife? She’ll want me.)
