Nazi Food Regulations?

Monday, October 20th, 2008

Does the idea of something from the Austro-Hungarian Empire controlling your food and making your supplements illegal scare you? It should, because unless you do something about it, it’ll be in effect by December 31, 2009.

Educate yourself, and do something about it.

You’ve probably never heard of Codex Alimentarius

Still don’t think its real? Well, just take a look at the official site for it: http://www.codexalimentarius.net/

Cutting w/Carbs

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

Sunday I’ll have the final stats for how the run on the Palumbo Keto diet worked out. I’m really thrilled with the progress I’ve seen. More on that this weekend.

For now, I’m still going to continue the cut and goal of 7% bodyfat, but as mentioned in my previous blog I feel that given the direction I want to take my training to do so I need to have some carbs appropriately timed in the day. With this will also come some changes to my supplementation. As it stands right now with some small declines in calories the last couple weeks, my macros are 53.7/7.3/39 (328g Protein, 44.4g Carbs (19.4 Sugars, 29g Fiber), 106g Fat) for a yield of 2517.5 calories. I feel the need to bump up the calories slightly. Given that I workout 5 days a week, my body would need roughly 3200-3400 calories a day to maintain. The new diet will put me at 2722.5 Calories, so there will be adequate calorie defecit to keep up the fat loss between the diet and adding in a stimulant fat burner. The new macros (including fats from the EFA supps) are 50/25/25 (332.5g Protein, 165.4g Carbs (50.4g Sugars, 26g Fiber), and 74.5g Fat. Here’s the new diet in detail:

Meal 1 - 5:15am
Xango    1oz
Whole Egg (Large)    x4
Egg White    x4
Picante Sauce    2 tbsp
Quick Oats (Uncooked Volume)    1 cup

6:00am - Leave For Gym

Meal 2 - Immediately Post-Workout
Max Muscle: Tripple Whey    1 scoop
Max Muscle: Big Max 50 Gainer    2 scoops

Meal 3 - 11:00pm
Chicken Breast (Grilled)    8oz
Apex Protein Cookie/Bar    1 Bar

Meal 4 - 3:00pm
Max Muscle: High 5 Vanilla    2 scoops

Meal 5 - 7:00pm
Sirloin (Choice, Top, separable lean/ fat, trimmed to 0" fat)    8oz
Baby Spring Mix    3 cups
Blend: Olive Oil/Seasoned Rice Vinegar (50/50)    1 tbsp
Xango    1oz

Meal 6 - 9:00pm/Bedtime
Max Muscle: High 5 Vanilla    2 scoops
Inulin Fiber    1 Hpng tbsp

So the goal is to time my carbs around the workouts and drop the carbs after mid-day. EFAs are taken with meals 1, 3, and 6. For the fat burner I’ll be using NxLabs Methyl Ripped Hardcore, but only on workout days. While I love Full Blown Extreme I’m opting not to use it because I would be getting far too much caffeine between that and the Methyl Ripped. Instead I’m sticking with Nitro EXT for NO and the bonus of the beta alanine and carnosine support and its stimulant free. Lastly, I’ll be finishing up the remainder of the ThyrX in the evenings to promote fat loss overnight, again without stimulants.

So that’s the plan. I’ll post the new workouts as I get through them each day to review them one at a time.

Changing Proteins

Monday, October 13th, 2008

I need to drop the calories a bit in my diet to break a plateau, so since I am starting to run low on Triple Whey I decided to pick up a tub of High 5 tonight. Obviously, 5 different proteins in it, but it only has 1 carb per serving instead of 6. So, that’ll drop 30g more carbs out of the diet. I’ll finish up what Triple Whey I have on Sundays since that’s my carb-up day anyhow. This is going to leave me with a net of 16.9g carbs if you subtract those from fiber (30g/day). Hopefully that’ll be enough to fully switch my body over to go for the fats instead.

Workout and Supps for Oct

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Things will be a bit different for Oct being on a keto diet. The workouts are essentially the same as what I’d been refining toward the tail end of last month as a lighter contrast to the more intense weeks prior. Since the carbs are low, I need to get the resistance portion done quicker than usual. I posted one of the workout days a little while back, but I hadn’t finalized the whole split yet. So on that note, here’s the completed plan now that a couple dry runs have been done.

Note: Every exercise is done with a 1-0-1-0 tempo for 4×12. Rest period are 30 seconds.
Day 1
Arnold DB Presses
Prone Incline EZ Bar Curls
EZ Bar French Curls
Seated Incline DB Curls
Reverse Pec Deck Rear Delt
Tricep Dip Machine
Rope Cable Curls (Elbows Out/X-Body)
Reverse W-Bar Tricep Pushdown
Cardio - 30 minutes

Day 2
Cardio Leg-Warmup
Leg Press (Neutral Stance)
Prone Leg Curls
Seated Leg Extensions
Standing Calf Raises
Abductor
Adductor
Cardio - 30 minutes

Day 3
DB Flat Bench
Prone Incline DB Rows
Incline DB Fly
Reverse Pec Deck Fly
Decline Hammer Bench Press
Lat Pulldowns
Cardio - 30 minutes

For supplements I’m not doing anything pre-workout for two main reasons. First, being low carb I’m not going to get massive pumps anyhow. Secondly, I don’t want to put any unnecessary stress on my body from any stimulants. The only time I’ll get any is when I’m having a really rough time starting my day and have a small cup of coffee on a rare occasion. I picked up some of Max Muscle’s ThyrX also since diets like this can cause thyroid function to drop to try and hold onto fat. Its a good blend and still stimulant free. So, no drastic changes on the supp side of things. All together though I think I’ll see some pretty significant results between now and November.

Cycle Cut Short / Need Food Ideas

Monday, September 15th, 2008

I’m cutting off my present PH cycle at 5 weeks. The plan was to go for the full bottle (Just over 6 weeks) but since it looks like I’ll be doing the product testing for EST after all, I want to give a little bit of time to get back to "normal" so I can give it a fair evaluation in the log I’ll be keeping. I have a good idea what the product is and it should work quite well if its dosed properly and the purity/potency is good. I don’t see why it wouldn’t be. As for the current stack thus far (Tren, MMA-3, and HMG), it took a little longer to really kick in, but once it did the gains have been quite noticeable in strength, recovery, and weekly improvements. Weight has been holding solid at 203 in the mornings and now I know I need to up the calories a bit more to push past this. Not a fun thing to do on a clean bulk! I’m thinking that I’m gonna have to throw a bit of the clean-bulk idea to the wind in the future and just go for the sheer calories. Quite honestly, I’m getting tired of the pasta and potatoes route… The protein isn’t the problem, its trying to load myself up with the clean carbs. I haven’t deviated much from this diet since January, so its well over-due for some variety. I’ve gone to more rice and that’s appeasing me for the moment. I need to figure out more easy Asian dishes to make or something. Any suggestions, I’m more than open to.

Upward Trend

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

The workout program has certainly been getting my body on the right track to growing. The numbers have been steadily going up in appropriate intervals. We’re in the 6th week now of at least 9 weeks (up to 13 if need). Started up the Tren/HMG/MMA-3 stack on Saturday and its surprisingly kicking in quicker than I expected. Tren alone back in Jan didn’t start working noticeably for about 5 days. This time it was a matter of 3 days before I noticed some significant jumps (4 extra plates on the last set of leg press). Yesterday I said to GJ, "Is it odd that I can feel my muscles growing…?" which of course made her laugh and nod. My body has been feeling different though in that pumps last longer and visually my body has a "fuller" appearance (as per my previous blog). Typically I’d weigh in about 191-192 in the mornings, but today I was at 196. So perhaps things are starting off the way I hoped. From here it’ll be a matter of keeping up on the diet and calories to push past the 200lb mark again and get the weight up as much as I can during these 6 weeks.

Back On Cycle

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

With the EST test falling through from no one being sent their products, I’ve opted to run a cycle of some other products I’ve had on had. Rather than loading on one product, this time I’m lowering the dosage and stacking a trio. Started them last night, so I’m not expecting anything for a few days, but who knows. Thankfully the government with its infinite wisdom *cough* has been taking its sweet time signing the last product ban into law, so I was able to get a hold of what I needed. The trio is Tren (I know this one works! Used it back in Jan), MMA-3 (Bold), and HMG (similar to Epistane); 1 cap of each both AM and PM. Hopefully it’ll work out! Bumped up the calories a bit to around 4500 for this run. Time will tell the rest, but with the gains this workout is yielding for numbers I’m pretty excited and optimistic.

More Supps In Reserve

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

My boss got his hands on half a case of the remaining stock of ACL’s MMA-3 (Boldolone precursor), which was one of the 22 supplements that was on the proposed ban list that passed not too long ago. It still hasn’t fully gone into law yet, but probably will be officially in the next week or so. So, now I have 2 bottles of Tren and 2 of the MMA-3 in reserve to use down the road. I didn’t see nearly the mass gains I wanted from the VNS-9 and MASS, but my strength did go up a lot (set a PR of 400lbs on Deadlift). I still need to give my body a little more time off the supps, but its been over about a month now, but the longer the better. I wanna get through at least the first 3 weeks of the new program and have a baseline before running anything again. Not sure how I’ll stack them, but that’ll all come later.

I’m excited to get to lifting again though and to really be able to push GJ now. She won’t have any excuses about being depleted now… *eviltrainersmirk*
