This freakn’ sucks! Things were kickn’ ass and I went and made some stupid big jumps in weight and BAM! big ole’ pain in the arm! I’ve been off about a month and it’s gotten slightly better but it’s not there yet! I don’t even have a job or insurance to go to see the doc either.

Leg Day 10.13.09

So I roll out of bed dead tired trying really hard to talk my way out another dreaded leg day. I had some really good excuses too, but new I’d feel ****ty all day for missing it. The cool thing is my girl was the driving force this morning!
I began the workout stretching my hamstrings, quads, calves, back and upper torso. I don’t seem to be getting anymore limber but I’m sure if I keep it up I eventually will. Besides it helps get me warmed up quicker. I always wear a sweat shirt, beanie and sweat pants to get me heated up.
The scheme below is actually working well and really giving me a good burn so I plan on keeping it up until the weights are really up so I can start squatting again.

Man this morning kicked ass. Everything just clicked and I was able to jump the weights up pretty big! Felt real good! I started out stretching as I do every morning but that seems to be taking a little longer to limber up…must be age lol!

Oh yeah it was a good workout! My girl has religiously got herself up and in the gym for cardio which definitely inspires me and helps me get through the tougher weights. She’s awesome!
So I went in feeling like I did all my workouts and gave each one of them my all that I was accomplished in my week. That feels good and helps make for a better workout to close up this week so I knew I was gonna’ get it!

I also was doing hammer curls and running the rack from 35 down to 5lbs until I had nothing left in me to even curl my arms up. I was so pumped to get through my weights above, bring my dips up and walk out JACKED!!!!

As the previous workouts I’m starting out light and working up to help save my joints and be able to successfully complete my reps and sets as that is the most important part. I really like this plan because I get a feeling of completion and success but
still am moving up in weight. For me this really puts the day off on the right foot.

It’s Leg Day! Aw yeah leg day..mm leg day…ok I don’t like leg day. Especially when you’re new to this which is basically what I am. I didn’t have a real solid regimen when I left off either so I will definitely be taking it easy this morning as I have on all my workouts. I really have been stretching every morning as well and dressing warmly until the heat builds up in my body. I feel like the NO products I have used all work better/faster with higher body temps.
So yeah, as I said before I will go real light for some time before ramping up and using the 2 day aches as my guide to how well I’m hitting the target areas and if the weight is right.

Squats
I usually do 5 sets of 10 reps for squats but my knee was still not right so I switched up exercises.

Love it. It took a little longer than I hoped but I screwed around a little too. I feel awesome though and got through all the weight amounts I wanted too so it all worked out to be a bad ass Monday! What a good way to start a normally crappy day!

Alarm goes off at 4AM. Piss, get dressed. Downstairs at 4:11. Got my shake mixed, coat and beanie on by 4:16 Mixed the shock Therapy by 4:19. Waiting for fuzz to subside in Shock Therapy. Man it feels good to be up and ready to do this. Yeah I’m tired, got to bed at 11:00PM….that’s still 5 hours sleep, maybe not all REM but I was resting so it’s all good. I’ll make sure to try and get more sleep during the week when I’m working out. Can’t grow without sleep man. Called my partner last night but he didn’t answer. Texted him and said I don’t want no sick excuse tomorrow you falln’ off or shown’ up? Never got a reply…..figures. Alright I need to get to it. Good luck to all the AM’ers

Recovery#1

So this was the first weekend since I got back to lifting. I was already sore from the chest workouts but after the crazy Friday arm session I was wondering how bad Sunday would be as a tell tale sign as to how well the workout really was. As it turns out I was sore Friday night! Then Saturday even worse…or better depending how you prefer to look at it. I was pretty happy although my Tri’s weren’t as bad as I had hoped but that just means I’ll kill them even better next Friday.
My partner was sick all week so well see if he can get back up dust himself off and get into the gym tomorrow at 4:00AM. I am pretty freakn’ excited to get this thing rolling heavy…freight train style like 2 years ago!

Congrats to all my Bother’s and Sisters of iron for keepn’ at it!

Got a divorce and my gym stuff!

My Church

Probably a weird thing to some to be excited about but I’ll explain why shortly. I spent last weekend setting up my gym which accounts for 75%+ of the garages’ total area with total co-operation of my girlfriend! She so cool about my working out and completely supportive. In fact she was the driving force in getting my gym stuff back! Damn I love her!
A little about me:

My name is Tom Riverson and I live with my girlfriend her 2 children fulltime and have 2 children of my own. It’s a busy full house but I like it. We currently rent a new house in a development of houses previously for sale now all rentals. I was an avid member here a couple years back and massive blogger at the time and once even featured here! Man those were the days LOL!!! Anyway I spent every day here reading and absorbing and meeting some of the coolest people EVER! I am so glad to be back here! It feels as if things are falling into place finally after so long!

My girl and I love the UFC and just spending time together whenever we get the chance. We’re an outgoing couple and are always excited about thinking of our lives together and what we can accomplish if we try hard enough.
So anyway 2 years ago I decided to call it quits after 6 years with my ex-wife. She had completely estranged herself from me I believe due in part to physical/chemical issues inside her. The last 3 years of our relationship I just couldn’t post pone my life or happiness any longer. She had been blind to our issues ignored me and was scorned and shocked even after being told what my plans very clearly  were if things didn’t change and we seek the help we need. So for 2 years we were tied up in court with me doing all sorts of assessments due to her allegations. Fortunately I came out clean but things would never be the same. She even had the neighbors accuse me of steroid use! That one really pissed me off! It’s not that I condemn them I just have never used them and she knew it but I’m sure my working out and physical appearance made it easy to believe to the judge! What an ass wipe he was by the way! I call it the fast food judicial system now that I’ve been through it. Once you are accused though you might as well have committed the crime. Just a note to anyone potentially divorcing NEVER MOVE OUT! GET A RESTRAINING ORDER BASED ON ALLEGATIONS AGINST YOUR SPOUSE! I’m not a lawyer and this is just my opinion but this gave my ex-wife the complete upper hand for 2 long years while I fought unsubstantiated allegations to see my daughter and reclaim my possessions!

Ok enough of that crap! I was able to go to the house and with the help of my girlfriend and 2 buddies we packed it all up and moved it to a much nicer environment at my new house. I was previously in a 12X12 horse stall in a very poor insulated barn. I always had a horse hanging its head into my stall or taking a 5 gallon piss only inches from my head in its stall sometimes ****ting over the half wall into my gym! I hated that but enjoyed the always cool temperature and rugged environment. Made me feel even more accomplished each week month year etc…
So now I’m in a nice neighborhood of town houses and have a decent size garage 75% of which is covered in mirrors and filled with steel and iron baby!!! It was a **** ton of work to get it all to fit properly but it’s an awesome layout and I love it! I’ll post pics here of it as well.
Glad to see all the new people here and huge exposure BODYBUILDING.COM is getting here and in all my favorite publications!
