So here we go again. I am finally going to take the plunge and enter into my first body building show. My life is finally stable enough that I can commit to it. Even better, I have a girlfriend who is supportive of my decision. I just hired a coach who has done 2 natural body building shows, and placed first in his categories each time. This man is a wealth of information. Having a health science background, being a personal trainer, and I had worked in a supplement store for 3 years, made sure I knew a lot, but I had one major fault. I couldn’t see myself and what I was doing correctly. So I am hoping he will really be picky with me, as I am with my own clients.
Of course though, with this being Day 1, I am starting to get sick. So I went out and got some Ester-C and COLD-FX to fight this baby off. Tomorrow I start an intro diet to help lean up. I am the softest I have been in ages, at almost 16% body fat. I am hoping to get to 10% in 4 weeks.
I have 128 days until I step on stage, which is just over 18 weeks. So lets see what I can do in 4 months time J

I can still run even! Oh how I love muscle memory hahaha

I have had quite the year. My brother is now sleeping and living with the one girl that I thought I would marry. I got diagnosed with Celiacs Disease (wheat allergy), thought I had hypothyroidism…but I rocked my classes
With a crappy year comes only a better year to follow. I have recently decided to join the army. Well i am 95% sure as of now. So I am now training to be a fit as possible, I am gonna balance gaining size and strength with superb cardiovascular ability.
As of now, I have the following plans set up
Weights, 5 days a week.
Push ups, Sit ups, chin ups 5 days a week
Running, 3 days a week
Swimming twice a week
I checked the Canadian Forces Fitness Assessment, and they expect officers to be able to do
19 push ups
19 sit ups (1 minute)
6 chin ups
Combined grip strength of 75kg (165lbs)
2.4k (1.5mile) run in under 10:13
As of now, I am at
45 push ups
57 sit ups
18 chin ups
grip strength approx. 275lbs
I have yet to do the run, but I know i can right now run 4min/k which is approx 9:30
MY goals for going into basic this summer are as follows,
Push ups 100
sit ups 90
chin ups 35
grip 300lbs (thank you rock climbing)
run 9:00
Thank you to anyone reading!

Holy Crap, between christmass break where I left to see my parents, and a new semester at school, I have not been on this site in ages.
I do have great news though, I somehow have managed to increase my weight, to 185 pounds with only 0.3% increase from my original percentage. I am very happy with this, especially because it is about a 12 pound increase in weight from early november. I believe this is due to three reasons.
1) I was an endurance athlete before, and was holding far less muscle mass than my body naturally wants to. My father and brother are both rather thick, the males in my family tend to be of "sturdy stock" and well I was about 60 pounds less than my brother…who is the same height of me, haha.
2) I work at a gym as a trainer. The fact that I work at a gym 6 days a week, and a supplement store for the other day helps a lot. I can’t not work out, I see my clients and other members of the gym, and as a trainer I need to be a good role model, plus it is so easy to do a workout when I am already there.
3) I also have a lot of stomach issues, which ensures I eat a rather clean diet. As I tell all my clients diet is 70% of the results you get, and well with a strong diet I managed to make the changes I want.
It’s good to be back!

The last three weeks have been terrible on my workout shcedule.
Luckily this was the hardest semester of my schooling and I should not have to worry about having such a hectic final month of school and exams. I am at a slight loss of what to do because I am heading back to my parents place for christmas, but there are no local gyms that I can go to. I know push ups and other free weight exercises are good, but still, its not the same.
Well either way, I am still alive, and looking forward to talking to everyone on here again! Till then, Merry Christman!!

Well it is almost Christmas, the semester is almost over, the snow is coming….what else could make this time better???
AWESOME RESULTS, THAT’S WHAT!
In the last two and a half weeks of training I managed to put on 3 pounds of muscle and cut .8 pounds of fat! one work, YEAHHHHHH. I am gonna enjoy all the awesome gains because I know they will not kep coming this strong in the near future haha.
I took friday off from my shoulder work out because
1. I had 0 minutes of sleep thursday night due to school
2. I fell on ice and really hurt my left shoulder on Monday and wanted to rest it still
So I will have three days off this week, and I think I will be 100% come Monday where I will have hopefully an AMAZING workout!
Till Next time, KEEP IT REAL!

So this is the first week where I have finally managed to fit in a full five days of high intensity even though I had two finals this week!
I am very excited to see this commitment coming out of me. After years of high level training for triathlon it seemed like it was impossible for me to become committed to training again. I am however liking this whole body building thing. I am seeing physical and some what immediate feedback. These two things together are obviously making it much easier for me to stay committed and wanting to hit the gym.
It has only been a few weeks, but I am seeing results and loving it! I cannot wait till this time next year. ’till next time, thanks for reading, and keep on lifting.

Well then! I must admit, I was away from the gym for well about 6-7 months. The triathlon bug bit me again, and after a successful season, I have decided to hang up the speedo for good, well semi hang it up.
The good news is that I am now rather lean, sitting at 9% on a bad day, and my upper body is much larger than I would have thought. It is actually my third week back lifting, however it is my first week back at full throttle so to speak. I am really gonna focus on building my upper body right now. I want to get my chest strong, I have always lacked here, so I would like to flat bench 2 plates by summer.
Well thanks for reading, till next time.
