Allergy season comes to the south.

Well spring is just around the corner. How do I know? My allergies are kicking my butt today. Thank God it is a rest day. I hope they wil ease off tomorrow.

Making Progress.

I had a good workout today. A friend of mine came over and worked out with me so I was able to go heavier than usual on bench press and get a good forced rep burn. Its kinda funny though because Here I am Mr. Super out of shape and I am pushing him to do more LOL. Im doing good on everything so far. I will have new pics and measurements up Sunday so  I guess that will really tell the tale. So far I have only seen little changes but everyone else says they can see a big difference. I hope the numbers and the pics show me what I dont see yet. But no matter if I clear the hurdle or knock it down this is one race that still has to be run.

Motivationally challenged

I had a hard time getting started today but I finally got my workout in. I must say I feel alot better now. Sometimes its hard to get over the hump and get past our own mental blocks. I am bad for doing this when I feel bad. It’s easy to forget how good working out can make you feel. I am just thankful for the friends I have made here who help me stay motivated when Im having an off day. I am so glad that I am here and a part of this community. I only hope that one day I can be as big an inspiration to others as the people here have been for me. Thank you all, But special thanks go out to Captain Ahab and Melda.

Back and Forearm day

I had a pretty good work out today. My Forearms are toast. But Im having trouble getting a really good back work out. I just dont seem to feel it as much. I know part of the problem is my size. It affects my form putting more of the emphasis on my shoulders and arms. All I can do though is keep working on it until my size is no longer an issue. I do get some benefit from it in my back but Im looking forward to the day when I can get a good burning back workout in. I am also looking forward to getting to where I can do pull ups. Im hanging in there day in and day out. FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION!

Had a good leg workout today.

I guess yesterday was just one of those days. My leg workout was pretty good today I went up on weight all around and can really feel it in my quads and Hams now. Tonight the stairs at work are gonna suck! But I love it.

I need a swift kick in the Butt.

I don’t know what is wrong with me today. I am dragging. I did my workout routine (chest & biceps my favorite) And I just could not get motivated. My workout usually lasts 45 minutes but today it took me like and hour and 5 minutes. I really had to force myself to do every set. I just feel so drained. I pray to God I am not getting sick. I have got to keep pushing, I have to be able to drive harder. I am just glad it wasn’t leg day. I hope I feel better tomorrow cause tomorrow is leg day.

I finally made it for a full 30 minutes on my cardio session!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I walked 1.25 miles !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This may not seem much to alot of you who are in shape but for a man of my size THIS IS A MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENT!

I may be over reacting here but I am very proud of myself at this point.

I just finished my weight routine for today.Today was shoulder & tricep day. (shoulders and legs are my least favorite things to work). I was determined to get in an intense shoulder work out so I upped the weight a little and cut my rest time between sets a little. Man my shoulders are wasted! Best shoulder workout I have ever had! This of course drove me to up the intensity on my triceps, resulting in the best tricep work out I have ever had. Great day working out!

I have noticed since I started working out and eating better, that the way I think and feel about things is changing. I have had problems with depression for years, but I think I have finally found a key element in controlling it. I was praying this morning before I went to bed (I work nights) that this wouldn’t just be a journey to transform my Body. I Decided to transform who I am completely and become the man that I know I can be. The one God intended me to be. With hard work, determination, and His loving grace. I know I will do this.
