Okay, so my contest date has been set. After three date changes, a box of chocolate chip cookies, and frustration over it all. ITS ON.
I am starting now at five weeks out. Hopefully the cookies did not undo the six weeks prior that I had under my belt.
I was so motivated this weekend by watching nsparaco1(Nick) and others compete in the Presidential Cup. I got a little amped after catching up with Nick in the pump up room.
Ahhh, the smell of dream tan on a saturday morning.
I will be posting pics of my progress and trying to do more of a complete blog this time.

Its official. MRI results show that I have a herniated disk in lower back, L5 i think. I was so overwhelmed with the results I dont know where in lumbar it is. Started steroidal treatment today. We will see what happens physical therapy in about a week. Good news, I can still do some light duty work in gym. Which is fine. Its cutting time for team photo shoot, beach, etc. No running, which is a bummer. Its my favorite cardio exercise. Guess I will be moving to the bike, elliptical, and stair machine for that. Bad news, May 17th contest is most likely out of picture.
Anyone out there with herniated disk problem or stories about recovery/rehab. Please share.
Thanks.

I just let out the biggest WHOOOOOAAA in my life….yes, sitting in my apartment. lying on my pro-tanned sheets looking up at my trophies. I FEEL GOOD. AND PROUD. I AM SO ELATED…unh huh, i used an SAT word on ya! obviously im still overjoyed from my three victories last nite at the 2007 OCB Charm City Classic. I kicked butt and won Novice Lightweight (1st Place), Novice Overall (Runner up) and Lightweight Open (3rd Place)…I busted my ass for 8 weeks. Enduring high stress 12 hour work days and hitting the gym for an hour or so only to return home to do more work…I sacrificed time, money, relationships and weight…But it was all worth it as I am sure many of you know! I can only imaigne how much work professionals in this sport or even repeat competitors feel when they go thru this time after time again.
This was one of the best experiences in my life. it definitely makes the top 5. i met great people. got great support and criticism. overall just awesome.

So all this time I was drinking honey in the morning with my green tea…only to realize i was adding a ton of sugar, carbs…i didnt realize how much sugar/carbs honey had in it….never even thought to read the label mainly because, i always thought to myself, i could be using real sugar which is worse!
since i need to cut my carbs/sugar for my upcoming contest, guess i will have to drink my green tea unsweetened…

So I met with a trainer (tim) at my gym today about prepping for my first contest…Why, cause im confused as a fish with titties!!! SO much advice so much to read, so I figured I get some one on one with an experienced person. Tim was great. Turns out he is a former boxer and strength and conditioning coach. He is also part of a bodybuilding team. This is my first official step to championship!!! (i hope). Its on and poppin’!!!!

so im noticing the stretch marks right in the are where my shoulder and chest connect…almost in the underarm crevice…not happy…ive been rubbing cream on it, but still not pretty…even moreso, not getting better……being the wik(ipedia) master that i am, i did some research…wik says that they are caused by rapid growth during bodybuilding or weight loss, causing stretching of the skin ….must be the growth, cause i have not lost anything and even still, if it is growth, im not that big…..wik also said they are attributed to steroid use…ive never touched a roid in my life..hell i can barely stand whey protein….i look like i do because of hard work and my genes!!! (thank you very much)…..anybody with any suggestions on how to get rid of them…..other than me getting a nice tattoo on both sides to cover them up…and what about the ones on my ass cheeks…ive heard that most black men have those….bruthas, is this true??
