Last year I really started getting back on track, and the motivation and training was top notch. Then the shoulder really started to bug me. I’ve had problems on and off but they’ve never found anything on the MRI, so they haven’t thought there’s been anything there. Well I knew something was going on and finally found a surgeon that wanted to look further into it. In Jan I had a subacromial decompression and distal clavicle excision. Didn’t think the downtime would be too bad, maybe 4 weeks or so before starting back up again. Things got progressively worse after that, and in April had another MRI which showed a large full thickness tear of both supraspinatus and infraspinatus. New surgery in May to fix this. Another 8 weeks in sling and only passive ROM. Things were good for awhile, and I had no problems with the passive ROM’s and managed to get full range of motion back quite quickly. Still things weren’t good, and I’ve started having pains again, and not being able to do certain movements. Back to doc again who gave another cortisone injection hoping it was just an inflamation of the join. Not so lucky. Had another MRI on Thursday and news weren’t so good. A large re-tear of the infraspinatus. Going to doc on Monday to see what the prognosis is. Needless to say my progress in the gym just haven’t been there. Hell, I haven’t had a real work-out since January. But there’s things to be learnt from all this, and at the end of it all I will come out having learnt a lesson or two hopefully, and can start back pretty much full blast again.

As a birthday surprise, my husband had made arrangements to drive to Atlantic City for the Atlantic City Pro. What a trip we had!! It was VERY inspiring. I had not attended a show for probably 18-19 years. Needless to say they look quite alot different today than they did then. Also I got to see the Fitness girls which I hadn’t previously. Don’t think there were even such a thing last time I went, neither that nor Figure. I was extremely impressed with the Fitness girl. Actually much more than I thought I would be. I really enjoyed watching them.
I have to say though I wish there were more women competing in BB. Not that they weren’t good the ones that were there, would just have been nice to see more of them
So now we’re sooped up with inspiration and motivation to carry on eating and lifting and see where we end. You gotta love it!! I did a junior competition back when…. maybe I ought to look at doing a novice master to have the cyle completed It would have been fun.

I was very happy to go on the weight today and find out I had gained and also lost a little bodyfat!!! Wamo!! I’ve been trying to eat more and it seems to be helping. The workout routine is still good, and I like it alot. I mix it up with different excersices every time. These next couple of weeks we’ll try to do 3 days, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with a little more rest.
Went to the orthopedist the other day to check out the shoulder and neck, which has really be bugging me lately. Just to find out if there’s anything wrong, to know how hard I can push and not make it worse. Well, arthritis in the neck and bonespurs in the shoulder. Will try the physiotherapy just to have done it so I can move on to other options down the road if it comes to that. It never helped previously and doubt it will help this time. But worth a shot. I got some anti-inflammatory pills that seems to be helping. Today at the gym, no pain!!! Woopeee!! Feels very good.
So all in all things are moving along fine. By the end of the year I’m hoping to stay around this fatlevel and get to at least 115/116…. a little bit at a time.. I have no need for more fat, only mass!!

I love my new workout routine, and am definately gonna stick with it rest of this year. I need mass mass mass The only thing I miss is working out with hubby. We go to the gym together but don’t work out together. We have so different needs that it’s better that way. It also helps not having a spotter actually, so I can more concentrate on perfect form. Trying to leave the ego at the door. It’s all good. Need to up the food intake which is somewhat challenging, but we’ll get there slowly but surely.

It’s been a long time since I was here. From what I can see about a year. Shit, time flies!! The training has been somewhat steady, but not quite, with hubby’s injury. While he was out of action I figured it was a good time for me to lay low for awhile as well, and do other things I normally don’t get to do too much of.
But, next couple of weeks are gonna be spent getting back on track properly with both training and eating, and we’ll see where we end up. We’ve been trying out different gyms and have ended back on one that we left. I don’t know why it’s so hard to find a "real" gym these days. They all seem to be catering to a very broad clientell, and by doing so they end up doing all rather poorly. It probably has to do with my own attitude as well. I just can’t stand when people gather around in groups in my "space". Even the ipod doesn’t help with that. Oh well… can’t have it all. As long as they have the equipment I need I’m happy.

So the move is finally over, at least the worst part of it. We’re in the new house albeit still in boxes. Guess it’s gonna take some time. During this whole moving ordeal the training and eating has suffered somewhat. Planning on getting back on track again next week, and joining a new gym. We put the homegym plan on the backburner. Having just the necessities in the basement is good enough. It’s kinda nice to get out of the house and go to a gym as well. Have found a much better gym. It’s a bit to drive, but would rather drive awhile and get a proper gym, than joining one we won’t be happy with. There really isn’t a whole lot of gyms to choose from when it comes to emphasis on building. So many of them have mostly cardio and machines, and very few free weights. Don’t get me wrong, they’re nice and all, but the atmosphere isn’t quite right for me at least.
So from next week it’s full speed ahead again. No more slacking and back to stricter diet. Let’s say it’s been a prolonged vacation.

We’re in the middle of moving which means packing up a lot of stuff and being very busy. The workout schedule has been somewhat muddled lately. I guess we can say nonexisting. However moving furnitures and boxes ain’t so bad for a good workout. It’s one things to get all the stuff loaded, but it has to be unloaded too…. another good workout. Will have to find a different gym now which is OK cause I didn’t really like the one we went to. We’re planning to set up a room in the basement as well, which will be nice. All in all it turns out that the whole moving ordeal has put us a little off track. Not too worried about it as I know it’s gonna be quick to get back in the swing again.
The moving has taught me one thing: I need to do more cardio. Get out of breath waaaaayyyy too quickly. Ugh!!

So I realize I might not be the most patient person in the world, but I have kinda gotten on a good track now, where I just do my thing, and don’t expect things to change overnight. It just feels good. The eating, the training, it’s all good and part of my life. We’ve ended up moving houses it looks like (fingers crossed) and that will jumble the schedule somewhat, but we’re detemind to stay on track. I’m really hoping for a nice gym in the basement now, where I can wear whatever I want, make whatever noices I want (not that I’m a big grunter but it’s hard to do squats without some kind of heavy breathing at least) and not to forget play whatever music I want. Music is such a big part of my workout and the ipod doesn’t always agree.
I’ve been putting off the measuring lately. Well not exactly putting it off, let’s say not measured. What the heck do I need to measure for, I just look in the mirror and feel how the clothes fit. That’s as much motivation as any measurements. I know my bodyfat is going down, but I just snuck on the weight; AND IT WAS STILL THE SAME. I don’t really care as long as I get more cut and defined. At least not right now.
Hubby, the best training partner you can ask for, had a pretty bad shoulder injury last week. I’m thinking rotator cuff tear, but let’s see what the MRI says on Thursday. There’s ways to work around it and he’s determind to do so. At the same time he’s got to be careful. No point in being stubborn, and let it drag on forever.
It’s all good!!

I’ve been trying to keep track of my calorie intake with fitday and really like the way it works. It helps alot actually. Still struggling to get enough calories during a day, with the clean eating. I feel I eat all the time, but getting used to it, and seems like the body is adjusting well. But the weight won’t budge. GGGRRRR!!!!! I’m aiming for another 10lbs and think it’s gonna take awhile. Patience isn’t one of my virtues. I keep telling myself, just keep at it and do what you do. Really the big thing is that you enjoy the work-out and the process, and then whatever happens will happen. Give it time…. yeah yeah… I guess the good thing is even if the weight is constant the bodyfat seem to be going down, which is good.
