Variable training edited

I was on call last night and did I get trained. I got to bed at 11:30 called at 12:20 and called in emergently at 1:20. The roads looked like an ice rink when I went in, though snow while I was in made the drive home at 4 am treacherous. I was sliding all over and I have a 10 K pound quad cab 1 ton with siped tires.  Made it home to have another call less than 2 hrs after getting to sleep. Yikes what a night. I hope to workout later though suspect I may drop somewhere in the shoveling snow part of the day. This is highly unusual for our part of the woods. I am ready for the cruise to Mexico next month.  Hope to do shoulders, abs and forearms later. I have clinic and hospital rounds this am.  Afternoon off though tons of work may push off unitl later this afternoon. Thanks for reading if you made it this far. I am in the mushy brain stage of sleep deprivation. Did take a protein drink at 4 am as I was starved. Off to slide around now. Take care to all. Hope to post real workout later.  Yeah! I did it. Sorry to toot my own horn, though I thought there was no way I would workout tonight after last nights on call fun.  I did 15 sets of shoulders with new max on seated shoulder press 122.5 by 6.  6 sets of forearms and 9 sets of abs.  Felt good. Only noticed the fatigue for the first few sets and then I was feeling good with second, third, or maybe fourth wind. I took a 1 hr nap this afternoon which helped. Tomorrow will be my rough day as it is always harder post post call than just post call. Thanks for those that keep me accountable. I appreciate the training partners that I have on this site. Shoveling snow workout

Long day of snow. Almost 8 inches today. I had drifts in my driveway almost 2 feet deep. I spent an hour doing my drive and sidewalk. 4 car wide drive and 25 feet deep. Good workout.  Helped my neighbor with part of hers and built up the kids snow ramp in the backyard. I will have to post some pics sometime soon. Skipped other workout tonight and had  a night of WII tennis with the kids. Lots of fun. Take care to all.

Late night arms

I started late tonight and was wiped out but ended up having a quick though intense arm workout. 9 sets of tris and 9 sets of bis. Added bench dips for the first time in a while and felt pretty good. Need to figure out how to be graceful with more than one 45 on the lap working out alone, as I hit 15 reps with a 45 on the lap. Feeling good that I did not let the schedule still a night. Took rest yesterday as I was pretty sore everywhere. Trying to eat plenty of clean food right now and the pants are fitting looser though I am keeping steady at 176-177. I feel like all is well with the world again as the workouts are now consistent again. Take care to all.

Chest and back

Had a great workout of chest and back today. The DOMS is gettting better the more consistent I have been able to be. This is the start of my fourth cycle on a 4 day split starting back and I love it.  Had a good day with the kids. Finally decided that despite the snow on the roof I would get the Christmas lights down. Didn’t dare go to the second level as the roof was snow covered. The legs are feeling the workout from yesterday and all of the ups and downs on the ladder today. Tomorrow is when I should not be able to walk without a limp. Take care to all.

LEGS!!!LEGS!!!LEGS!!!

I was asleep on the couch at 4:30 after a 30 hr stretch of work. By 5:30 I was into the first set of squats. Third leg workout since starting back and gradually getting back to where I was two months ago. Squats up to 210 for ten tonight and leg press up to 310 for ten on the smith machine (my version of vertcial leg press). Romanian dl and then on to some burnout leg extensions. Had wanted to work calves though dinner time was upon me and I have shin splints from sprinting around the hospital last night and today. I will try to hit them tomorrow. First day off of work in 12 days tomorrow, so excited. Take care to all and have a good weekend.

Elliptical hit for cardio

Got in a  cardio session with 25 minutes of hit up to level 5 on the elliptical. Felt good and I am definitely getting in better shape cardio wise after no cardio for awhile. On call tomorrow and then legs on Friday as I have a half day. Take care to all.

Traditional PWO shake and BB.com

Snuck another one in tonight. Shoulders, forearms and abs. Had a late start but got through 15 sets of shoulders, 8 of forearms and 4 of abs. Felt good.Keeping this brief as the fingers are not so strong right now after forearms. Planning on cardio tomorrow. Please someone make me stick to it. I always start out with the intention of cardio and then change to weights.  Need to hit more cardio to get ready for the vacation for our 15 th anniversary next month. Take care to all.

I had a 53 hr shift over the weekend ending at 2 today. I was dead dog tired tonight. Spent the afternoon on a date with my oldest and the evening with lego building with all three of my sons. WE had a good time.  I was about to call it a night when I got on BB.com and decided to hit it anyway. I did bis and tris tonight 19 sets. Enjoyed having them on their own again after messing with my norm last week working them after chest and back on two separate days.   I won’t likely do that again.  Better able to focus on arms and the weights are up when there is a dedicated day.  If anyone is stagnant on arms try a separate day if you have not already. Take care to all and good luck with your weeks goals.

Rest Day needed

On call this weekend and 9 1/2 hrs left to go. I skipped today as I am largely sore everywhere. Figured I would make more of it tomorrow as I have the afternoon off. I was going to do arms though after the run in last night for an emergency just after working out I did not want to risk having rubber arms if I needed to do any procedures tonight. I hit 5 out of 7 nights this week and feel good about it. I am definitely back. I just hope the DOMS eases up soon. Take care to all.
