Shoulders, abs, and forearms after a nap.

Had a great workout tonight despite a late start and falling asleep watching a movie with my kids. Had bedtime and then did some work and then out to the garage to hit it.  Posted workout. Having a good week. 5 out of 6 nights and every muscle fiber is sore. I will rest tomorrow. I go see the sports med doc tomorrow over my left knee.  Hope to get good news though suspect medial meniscus tear.

Great night

Got iin another workout tonight. Back and bis. Did well. Left kneee bugged me quite a bit on deads so did not push it too hard. Otherwise great workout. Feeling good about being back. Still have two workouts to post in the tracker from thurs and fri last week so 4 out 5 days. I suspect I may have to rest tomorrow for soreness. 

 Hope all is well with everyone, I enjoy reading the blogs here.  Hope to be able to spend more time on blogs someday.

Major DOMS

I had almost a week off last week and then did arms Thurs and legs,calves Fri. Could not find a non sore muscle to work Sat. Today had a good chest and tri workout that I posted. Legs however are incredibly sore from Friday. I am limping at this point when I first stand. I added lunges to have something different to work the hams since leg curls are out with my left knee pain.  I have not done lunges for quite some time and oh what a surprise.  My hams and glutes are incredibly sore. 

 This week looks favorable for workout, eating right, and resting as I don’t have a call night this week until the weekend. Glad to have the soreness to remind me the pleasures of working out.

Legs, calves and forearms

Had a good workout tonight after a tough day. 12 hrs in the clinic today with almost no stopping. Overbooked with two emergencies and every other patient very complicated. Came home exhausted. Said to my wife that I didn’t think I could do it and she said sure you can I am proud of you. Out to the garage I went. 48 minutes. Lunges,20 rep squats, extension, standing and seated calves and then standing behind back curls and rev wrist curls.  Went fairly light on legs as my left knee still bugs me. I am waiting for a chance to see my sports doc and get an MRI. He suggests possible arthroscopy with debridement of suspected medial meniscus tear. Don’t look forward to that.

Finally!!

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

Long day with a code midday for the cardio. I was first to the scene again despite being on the second floor with the code on the first floor. Things went well. Prayers for the man who needed help.  Funny to be a kid doc and the last three codes at the office have all been elderly.

Did biceps and triceps with some abs at the end. Had a good workout. Endurance is slightly down as only 1 /4 of the last nights did I get a decent night of sleep.  I did 21 sets total with a good pump at the end.  I have the next week without call so I hope to get caught up on working out and sleep.

 Take care to all. Someday hope to figure out how to post some pics. I keep getting a message that it was successful but the pics don’t show up on my site. I hope if they are on someone elses site they are not offended. LOL.

Dead tired tonight though came to the forum and got inspired to save a workout night. Thanks to the over 35 ers.

Bummed about no workout

Again work has kept me from doing a workout. I am post call today and studying for recertification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support as a team leader.  I do codes routinely though this test is the culmination of 4 yrs of med school and 3 yrs of residency rapped into one test where all of the knowledge gained in those seven yrs may be tested.  I am what I would call overstressed tonight, so giving into tired eyes and going to get rest before the day long test tomorrow. Hope to workout tomorrow night. Take care to all.

Bummed about no workout

I have been busy all weekend with the kids and now tonight have too much work to do before call in am. I have to recertify for Advance Pediatric Life Support on Wed so working out this next few days seems like a luxury that i won’t be able to afford. Someone please workout for me. Take care to all.

Building a bunk bed.

Today was a long one. Started early with trying to put all of my 8 yr olds new furniture together in his room. Started to be a quick job though by the time I dismantled the 3 yr olds toddler bed and took out his furniture and down stairs and went and bought a twin and full mattress for my 8 yr old’s new twin over full bunk the day started to drag.  At the mattress store I got to move some 15 mattresses with the owner to get to the ones i bought. Then back home to assemble all of the new furniture for my 8 r olds room. The stairs and the dresser ( 180 lbs) and then the bed up the stairs was the workout.  And of course the mattresses had to get upstairs too.

 An unconventional full body workout. Sore everywhere. Though fun to have your three little guys cheer you on as you move furniture up the stairs. Easier after almost two years of lifting, than it used to be.   Bummer is my 8yr old is now sick with a fever for his first night with all of his new furniture. Finished at their bedtime and not an ounce of energy left to workout. Hope to hit it tomorrow. Take care to all.

Workout Tracker, my new training partner

Got the chance to do Shoulders, forearms, and med ball juggle for obliques as abd rectus sore.  Had a good workout. Each weight was selected and  I likely pushed out a few extra reps as I knew  I was going to post on the new Workout tracker.  It is a good incentive to push a little harder.

 Meeting all day tomorrow trying to save the Poison Control Center for our state. It is on the chopping block. That should be fun.  Take care to all.

Early workout

I had a chance to workout after a half day of work and still got to get the kids from school. I had a great back, bis and abs workout.  I felt good about it after a week off. Chest is still very sore from Mondays workout.

 I had a date with my 8 yr old today and went and played laser tag and miniture golf. We had a blast. Great time bonding. My 6 yr old wants the same date on our next date and I can’t wait.
