Vacation time

Off to the Oregon Coast for a break with the family. 7 days of no pager and just my family, no call, no emergencies and not meetings. I will only have the option of resistance bands, the beach, and the kids as weights on the stairs down to and up from the beach ( gets the legs pretty good). 

Called away from workout! Yikes

So I got to work out tonight and was on the last of a 6 set superset of triceps after chest and got called to a code on a baby, to back up one of my colleagues. I did not expect to get called in tonight as I  was not formally on call.  It was hard to drive in in a ball of flame with the exhaustion in my arms but made it in about 6 minutes in heavy traffic.  1 1/2 hrs later the baby is doing fine and on its way to the NICU as I am on my way to protein.  I soaked through my clothes from the energy of the workout and the warmth of the resuscitation warmer that radiates heat everywhere. I think people thought I was stressed at first until I fessed up that I had been working out.  It is the first time I have been called in in the 19 months of working out.  I guess it worked out fine.  I had a great workout.  Legs killed from last nights workout sprinting to the nursery.

10-10-2-20 legs

This workout is amazing. It is one that leaves me speechless and unable to walk. Last night my five year old decided to workout with me and came out after the first set of 10-10-2-2-20. He thought I was about dying when I could not speak. Legs less sore today after this routine than the first time. It is awesome.  Going to be out of town next week and a little bummed to not be able to workout as I have been though it will be a break from the daily grind.  Take care to all.

Still going!!

Things are going well.I have been able to work out 2 weeks straight with only one day off a week for call. Started fitday and that gave me an idea that at 3500 cal per day I am still not gaining. Trying to increase calories yet stay clean as possible for the bad triglyceride history in my family.  On call tomorrow so we will see what that brings. Take care to all. It has been an inspiration reading others blogs. Thanks

Yes, I got to work out again today. Back and bis and abs.  Great workout.  I started a Fitday acct today to see what it was I was actually consuming as I seem to eat all day long. Average day for me and I got 3371 cal with 217 gm of protein. 31/43/27 split.  I have suspected for awhile the reason I have not progressed to my goal of 180 is calories. Though at 175 my max I had a lot more around the midsection than I do now at 172. After the big break I had I hope to gain more back. On call tomorrow with early c section so doubt a workout, so we will call it a rest day.

I know I should stop and rest though still feeling good. I am glad to have the time to workout.  I have a split that allows enough time off between body parts that I was recovered in the chest and tris today, and it was chest and tri day so I hit it.

 Yesterday’s leg day left me limping this am though feeling better tonight. Tomorrow will be my DOMS day. Feels good so far. Take care to all.

This is feeling great. Great gains since getting back.  I did the 10-10-2-20 leg routine tonight and as it said I would want to vomit and almost did.  I hope that I can walk in the am.  It felt great. Take care to all.

Hmm? this feels good. I have started a new split that focuses on the arms 2 times per week and the rest of the body once per week. It is nice with my schedule normally having more call nights, I can complete a whole week in a week instead of 10 days.  Like it so far. Take care to all.

Did cardio and abs today. After full body rotation this week after some time with spotty workouts, nothing is well enough to work except the heart and the abs.  Feeling great about getting back to working out. Things settling at home and had the weekend off so more time to work out. Have had a great return.  Take care to all.
