3 weeks in…

I am starting my 3rd week in my new routine.  I haven’t lost any weight but I have gained a few pounds.  I know why… I have been eating like crap.  It can be hard here in Las Vegas to do the right thing with my diet.  I know it is no excuse and I only have myself to blame for my way of life.  You see, my friends from back home like to come out to Vegas and stay with me so they can save money on a hotel.  I don’t mind at all because they are generous when they stay.  I think they feel like they are imposing and are dragging me from my everyday routine.  It’s all the same to me.  The only problem is that I tend to revert back to my old way of life when I am around them.  I will drink with them and eat late nights after a night of boozing and partying.  I don’t get out of control but my diet takes a beating because of it.  I still go to the gym and do my resistance training and some cardio but I will leave earlier because I want to spend time with my friends.  I am still going to hit my goal by the end of the year but I am going to make it hard for myself, especially with the holiday season coming up.  We’ll see how I do.

Goals for upcoming year… early resolutions

I just finished my first week of my new resistance routine.  My trainer likes to change up my routine to trick the body… I still am doing a push / pull method.  I lift 4 days a week and do cardio 5-6 times.  I am still a long way off from my long term goals but I am on the right path.  I would like to drop at least 20 lbs by the first of the year.  Without sounding totally vein, I would also like to have a random picture of me partying it up at one of the casinos pool parties with my shirt off.  I know that sounds lame but it is really a goal to keep me on the look good with my shirt off plan.  I think that would be fun.  I see all of those pictures of people having a great time and I get jealous.  I want it to be me even if it is just once.  My overall goal is to be healthy and in good shape.

On a side note, I love this forum because it gives me a chance to meet other people who are on the same road I am.  I know that we may be at different points but on the same road none the less.  It also gives me a chance to vent and complain about my struggles and frustrations.  For that I thank everyone who reads and gives feedback, even if it is just to kick my ass and tell me to shut up.
