I have had to resort to some workout videos as of late. I’ve got a bunch of stuff going on and my motivation has gone to poop. It’s helping to have someone barking orders at me while I sweat and this is just some schmoo on an recording. I can’t imagine what a real trainer would be like.

Today I feel so stiff. It’s a good feeling, not a pain thing but man, I feel like I could stretch for 24hrs and still not feel happy go luck loose today. I guess that’s good. Means I must have really worked myself yesterday.

After a long break of my choosing (and a little bit of not) I am back, working out, in pain but going for the gold. Well, silver will do. Wait, no compromises! GOLD!

Okay. So I wen’t trail hiking again for the first time in two years and while enjoyable, it definitely shined a light on my deteriorating fitness. None the less, I persevered and completed the hike. However, my "cutting of my toe" remark came back to haunt me at home when I right royally stubbed me toe in an almost catastrophic way on the stairs because my legs were so tired from the hike. OW. It inspired the following bad poetry.

I stubbed my toe.
I’m filled with woe.
What a blow.
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.

Just a little rant. Apparently, finding a U.S. size 12 cross trainer shoe in Spokane, WA is like trying to find a unicorn. Everyone has heard of it but no one has seen one in person.

Hmmm, still no photos. I’d like to say that I am a busy guy, which isn’t far from the truth but really, how long can it take to "strip and click"? Oops. That came out all dirty sounding. Not my intention. I think part of the issue is that I am just not a picture taker. I’ve never enjoyed how my likeness is reproduced on film/digital and well even the act of picture taking is something I never got hooked on. I go on vacation with every intent on capturing all the memories of the great escape from my job and everyday life only to return with maybe three photos (at least one of which is the inside of the lens cap). I will get some pictures up, promise. Before shots are the easiest ones, right? There’s no judging and it’s all, "Yeah, it can’t get worse than that.", "Just wait till the progress shows.", etc. It’s the WEEK TWO, THREE, etc. that are the hard ones.
So, how does one take a good "before" pic. It seems that smiling is out. One should never smile in a before pic. You need to look unhappy so when you take the after pic, the smiling will improve the pic over all no matter how much progress is made. Plus, it also gives the air of the whole exercise as being magical. *Bliiiiinng* <–that is suppose to be the sound of a magic wand.
Okay, cynical time is over. Back to doing the daily things I need to do.

Here I am, once again trying to figure out a way to get healthy. It’s an ongooing cycle with me and… "Ongooing". Well that’s an image, isn’t it? I meant onGOING. Typically, I’ll get on a routine for about two weeks and then either take a break for various reasons or get distracted by something real shiny and then two months later, it’s all, "crap, time to get healthy again."
I thought this place would be a great way to place some accountability on my Healthy Quest but already the task is in danger of shiny things. There’s a lot of info to be recorded here. Pictures, measurements, etc. Wish there was some kind of one step body scanner that could just take care of all that. Well, I guess I am off to charge the camera battery and find out where there measuring tape has gotten to.
Till next time,
Frank
