HELP!!

OK!! I have narrowed my suit selection to these three fabrics. Please allow me to introduce them!

Fabric one (spoken in slightly lispy high tone) issss a crushed black velor, accented with sssswooops and sssswirlsss of glisssstening golds and ssssparkeling copperssss. magnificccant.
Fabric two is background color of ssssubtle coral color highlighted with gold sssspecks that reflectsss light in mirroring magnitude. lovely.

Fabric number three is a natural beige tone twinkled with clear crystalssss. The naturalness of this fabric leaves a beautiful palette for numerousss embelishing ideassss. classic.

So there you have it. I am leaning toward one of these, but am torn really between two…but I’m not going to tell you yet!!! You have to say first! Can’t wait to hear your input!!!! I’m excited for the different opinions!

In other news….9 weeks. WOW. The single digits! It is Monday, so I did a weigh in…forgot to do that last week! Anywho, no change!! 114lb. So, I scoped out a trainer and decided to do a bodyfat check.  16%. Not bad. Did three readings for an average of 16.6%.  9 weeks to drop ~4%??? Yaaaa, that’s doable! Don’tcha think???  So commited to having my check done every Monday by the same person, mostly for an accountability check since diet is getting a little trying.

Training is good, but school is sooooo busy!! Which explains the lag in blogs and slow responses (sorry!).  My plan is to post new progress pictures next weekend!!

Thanks for the input, all!!! Have a super groovy week!!

little debbie.jpgD

Beware! Don’t be fooled by the ‘innocent’ face! She is possessed and evil! Alias names: Oatmeal cream pie, swiss cake, nutter butter, among may others!

Jul recently told me we are two people walking the same line, miles apart. I agreed. We are insync. The same goals, same time frame, same stage of life, same love of peanut butter and now…same blog funk. It has been one week since I have lost blogged and I’ve got nothin’! I’m having a blog fart, a blah blog, a blog blank. Blog schmog!!

Hhhmmmm….a week in review. Sprink break has came and went. The kiddo is back from Spring Break and returned with a ridiculous sunburn…throw in the marks from the spray sunblock and he looks like a lepor!!  And ya…I did tell him that! LOL!

Sooo …me and my gal pal, Mary went shopping for fabric colors (for the suit). I didn’t find the ‘That’s the ONE!’ But…have gotten some good colors to choose from. Black with copper?? Red?? Burgandy and gold?? Natural or bright??? Aaarrggh!  I think this mindset may be related to my lack blog uummph too. Can’t think, can’t commit, can’t decide. Are the wall closing in??? ;)

Diet has been OK. It has actually been pretty good…but was a lot easier when the kiddo was gone and the cabinets were bare of creamy dairy products and processed sugary snacks. Now, Little Debbie, Blue Bunny and Captain Crunch are back to haunt me. I think they talk to me. They know my name.

Workouts, good. Playing the game. Doing what I should be doing and giving it my all. When I work out I really stay focused. Think about what I’m working and where I want it to go. I am one with the gym. hehe

Ok all. Short and sweet!

Tootles!!

st pat day.jpg

Did a Monday weigh in today. I like the weigh in just to keep in me in check to see if I need to speed things up, or slow things down. No calipers this time, going by what I see only. Yes, I listened to you all!! Seems like things are progressing as planned! I am gradually loosing my ‘bulk’ at a nice slow pace and by next week I plan to meet my Break Even point, which is perfect b/c that will be the 10 week mark and you know what that means!

Ok, it doesn’t mean anything…but it sounded dramatic, right???

So, what changes have I seen??

On this journey I would have to say that my legs have been my biggest breakthrough. They really came out quite a bit. But I am speaking from the quad side. The glute side?? Not so much! Every time I do a lunge or hamstring curl I think..’Raise butt, RAISE!!’    Defying gravity is a hard thing to do!! damn physics.
Now I am waiting for those abs just to pop out! This is were my diet comes in. They say six packs are made in the kitchen…right?? Have you heard that before? I’m sure that I have washboard abs (LOL) hidden under there somewhere!

Did someone say nutrition?? Well lets talk. This week has been good. I have been very clean and disciplined. I have been tracking a food diary to present to my trainer this week…I have been writing everything down. EVERYTHING. B/C…lying is only lying to myself! Right? RIGHT!  Lower carb diet, good fats, lean proteins.  Some late night cravings but not too bad…nothin I can’t handle! Cause I’m tough like that!! (yaaaa…keep telling myself that!!)

Knock Knock!

Who’s there? Irish. Irish who??

IRISH you a HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY!!! (cuz i’m just nice like that :) )

pirate.jpg

Me, the fierce pirate! aaarrrggg!
It’s full speed ahead!

Did a small chat with my trainer last Monday, looking for my reality check and I got it. Jen, the trainer, is also a judge for NANBF area competitions…so her opinion is really valuable to me from the professional side. Besides mass, competitors are also judged on poise, color. symmetry, grooming…the whole package (we all know this). In her words, she has seen plenty of ’skinny girls’ win only because of better qualities in these areas. So, that was basically the conversation. Good enough for me. I just want to know that I will be fitting in…not one of those ‘one of these things in not like the others!’

So, here we are. Getting tough and tightening the rules. Counting carbs! This should be interesting. The last two years we have been reading about carbohydrate restriction, ketone bodies, ketosis, and here I am in preparation to enter it. It actually interests me, from a ’scientific’ point of view. They say you remember 90% of what you say and DO (from a test taken today), so I am looking at this as an advantage from a professional side…something like that. :)
You know what’s weird? The thought of carb restriction doesn’t bother nearly as much as the thought of tanning!!!  Yup, that’s my worry! I have been trying to keep her at bay with the Banana Boat fake tan, but it’s not pleasing to her too much anymore.

Mary and I are shopping for suit colors this break. Yeah! and Yeah…it is Spring Break! Today it the first day. I packed my son of to Sarasota Floriday (sniff, sniff) last Tuesday. Gone for 11 days!  Our longest seperation the whole time I have know him! But…so for so good! Mary is going to keep me busy (she doesn’t know this yet) hehe!!

Thats the news here!  Oooo…I as wondering. Has anyone heard from JustDave, I mean besides his last post?? I sure miss having him around!

12 weeks out

My trainer sent me photos of our last posing session. I had hoped to start this blog with one of them, but after seeing them I thought, NO WAY!  I think I need a reality check. Twelve weeks left, I don’t know if I’m going to have it. I just don’t see myself as big enough. In twelve weeks I will be even smaller.

You know on American Idol all those people come out to audition and you wonder…didn’t they have just one good friend to tell them, DON’T TO IT!!!! Some are OK, just not quite there…that’s how I feel. Now, I’m not writing this because I need an ego boost… ‘You look great!’ ‘You’ll be fine!!’ That’s not it. Just need to run it through my trainer. A little one on one reality.

In the mean time. I will continue on! The plan I am following does not list much of a change from 14 weeks to 12 to 10. 1800 calories on working out days. 1600 on rest. That is the only difference. Today is my day of rest.  I had to ditch the PB.(Jul, I hear ya!) Too many nibbles here and there. No more almonds either. Little bastards. (Mary, you know what I’m talking about don’t cha?). Just stick to the diet, that’s where it’s all at now. Lean and Clean!!

BTW. I bought Ken’s salad dressing, spray bottle of Honey Dijon.

PER SERVING (10 sprays): 10 calories, 0g fat, 95mg sodium, 2g carbs, 0g fiber, 2g sugars, 0g protein

TLC SCORE: 10. perfect for my spinach, sweet potato and chicken salad! Nice light, subtle flavors. Great try!! It’s a nice alternative from the standard Balsamic Vinegar.  A little change here and there is good!!
Also, tried the tuna creations in pouches. I have tried Lemon Pepper and the Sweet and Spicy.

tuna creations.jpg

Serving Size:             2 oz Calories:             60 Total Fat:             1g  PRO: 13 g Sodium: 230mg.

TLC SCORE: 3. ick. I just don’t like the flavors. They taste kind of funky. Maybe too overwhelming?? I have the Hickory Smoked still in my kitchen cabinet.  Don’t think I will get too it. I much prefer the plan ol’ canned.

I’m a marketing sucker. If there is something new out there that is conducive to my eating preference, then I want to try it!! Any other new products I should be aware of?? What do you guys like?? I love knowing this stuff!!

Mary (Tennessee), Teri (tlc) , Bonnie (Bon-Bon)

Last year, me and my possie (my girlfriends) did a small tour of the great pyramids of Egypt, camel backing through the great dunes of the dessert soaking in sun, culture and the great camaraderie of just being together. No?? Ok, OK…we went shopping at a local market and had lunch together, still enjoying the great camaraderie of being together!!!

My birthday is April 7th. Yes, I know it is still weeks away, but I want to do something meaningful! (I think Pixie may have planted a seed, so I will blame her for this!!!)

No jumping out of planes, but rather something that keeps my lunch still intact and my feet on the ground! (I’m a wuss like that!)

My idea was just to run a race with my running friends. I think this is a great way to celebrate. Doing what we all love, together. (Maybe incorporating a theme?? I love seeing runners dressed up!!) When it is over everyone feels great and accomplished. It’s a warm fuzzy for everyone!! Maybe some pancakes after???

Anywho. My son thinks this is a stupid idea (15 ya know….lol) and thinks that I should just go out, ‘It won’t kill you to go out once in a while.’ Seriously.

I’m not feeling the ‘going out thing.’ Drinks?? No….Smokey bars and feel bad the next day.  Overindulge in food? Nah, but maybe a little.

So, any ideas for me?? Or, how about themes??? T-shirt slogans?? Creative minds welcome!!!!

I’M A MUFFIN!

DANCING-MUFFIN_3668.gif

(ME, THE MUFFIN!!)
Week 1/14

That was a busy one!

My week in review:

Diet pretty good. No overwhelming urges to gore or indulge. It actually stayed pretty manageable. Workouts were good. I managed to get the second ones in when required.  That right there is my biggest time twist in my time management scheme. Gotta make it work. I have added a new cardio twist to my workout!!! It’s pretty exciting! I’m……Jumping Rope!! I like it! Here’s the twist.  I have started practicing tricks!!   Don’t laugh! I’m surprised I don’t have welts on the backs of my legs from all my misses!  I actually though I was starting to look pretty smooth until I youtubed ‘jump rope tricks.’ Yee gats!!  Pretty impressive stuff from those jump ropers. I’m still going to practice though…but only when no one is looking! ;)
Posing is going pretty well. I have made the transition from feeling like I am walking like teenage lanky boy (sorry, son) to actually feeling confident in the way I am moving. The practice is paying off and I am really glad we started early on this task. I really need all my confidence in this area!! I have ordered my shoes and the plan is to meet with the swimsuit maker on spring break (it is actually cheaper to have one made than ordered! Well, in the Midwest anyway).  Man, investing all this money is really making it seem real and puts the pressure on staying clean and working hard.

I feel like a baked good. Ya no,…your baking your favorite muffins, measuring perfectly, using the finest ingredients, mixing, but not over mixing, baking at the appropriate temperature for the perfect amount of time. The true test is when the muffin is done. Is it too doughy in the middle (not lean enough)?, did it not rise enough (not enough mass)?,  does it look good but taste horrible (the body is there, but the muffin trips and falls walking across the stage in it’s 5" heals)???   I feel like I am in the crucial mixing phase now…only time will tell how this muffin turns out.

OK guys…always love hearing from you, and checking in on your progresses. I’ll try not to be such a stranger!
