Back in action 4 weeks out…ahhhhh FREAKOUT!

Well I am back from vacation, and the prescribed rest for my back.  I actually biked a couple of times on vacation, and visited a Gold’s Gym once near the end of the week…..I really go crazy if i can’t work out.  BUT all that aside, my back is feeling better, the car ride was the most aggravating to it.  I did pretty well with my diet last week, i did need a little cheating with the rest I guess.  I pre-mad about 80% of my meals for the week, and tried my best to choose diet friendly cheats while out to eat.  So now I feel energized, positive, and motivated.  I got my 2 piece suit the Friday before I left…and boy is it tiny!!!!  LOL.  I am looking forward to shedding some water weight and getting down to a reasonable look for the first competition.  I do plan on doing a few more shows after i get over my August first sho hump.  I will be back at the chiropractor near the end of the week, and hopefully I can work out around my injury.

Any good tips on a 2 week cutting plan will be helpful.  Things I did before the last competition (and prebaby) arent working as fast as before.  I do plan on the water loading and unloading the week of…and I know that has an amazing outcome…but feel like i look swollen…

let’s call this the 4 week FREAKOUT!!!!!!

So rest and vacation for a week….stay on the diet!!

Well we are on vacation next week, and i guess it is good timing.  My Doc has told me no lifting for awhile to let me back heal.  I am allowed to do very little lifting and movement, so GOD HELP ME get through a week of diet alone.  Why is it easier to do the diet when you are training?….my answer is…it takes up alot of my day to train……less time for snax and eatingeatineatingeating feed my face feed my face feed my face.!!!!!!   Oh well…i guess this is what my body needs, and maybe it will help me with the last crazy 3 weeks precontest.  Waiting for my 2 piece suit to come in, thought i’d have progress pix in it for the page, looks like ill have vacation pix instead.

My aching back…

Well, I am in pain.  Like not muscle soreness…serious back pain.  Hurts the most to relax my back, especially when sitting straight up, or bending over to tie shoes, or getting up from a sitting position.  Now i can do back squats wth no pain, and hamstring curls with no pain.  But i cant bend over to touch my toes to stretch without severe pain in my lower back.. It is actually over my butt/hip bone and esp on my left side.  Like across my butt bone, not the glute muscle.  So anyway that is the best i can explain it.  I have been working witth it and taking advil, if i cant get relief by laying off of it im going back to the Chiropractor -witch-doctor next tuesday.  I know I need rest, but my body also looks like it could use a little more cardio!!    :}  

I am pissed, and hope that i can maintain my diet….instead of eating through the pain.  I am pretty sure this all stems from holding my 2 year old up and down all day as we watched my husbands Half IronMan the other weekend.  It was immediately hurting the next day, and i have been denying it ever since.  Until today, i stood up to let the dog go pee…and felt immobilized.   Anyone reading this a Dr?

About 7 weeks out

I thought that i should enter in my curent diet, well the one i have been attempting fo the past week or more.  I am trying to do some sort of carb cycling, because i really can not go 100% without yet.  However I am bad for not keeping strict on what I eat EVERY DAY.  Meaning, I usually eat when I am hungry, not into starving myself, but again eating the right things and portions.  so here goes:

1 scoop Muscle Milk Protein in 6 oz water

4-6 oz chicken, 1 cup veggies

1 scoop Muscle Milk protein in 6 oz water

1/2 cup ground chicken or turkey on small green leaf salad..w/ homemade balsamic vinegar and ioil dressing…i tbsp soy nuts topper

1 Fiber BAr (140 calories)…keeps everything “moving”

handfull of almonds

1 scoop Muscle milkprotein in 6 oz water

**Depending on my cravings i may alos include 1 egg 3 egg whites with 1/4 cup 1% milkfat cottage cheese, and I also switch this in and out of my days for lunch and dinner…just depends.

 

On occasion i’ll eat like 2-3 strawberries if they are in the house or grapes, but trying hard to stay away from fruit sugars too.  All i drink is water.

on carb days, i have oatmeal, or a small bowl of cereal w/milk.  I may have some sort of whole wheat pasta (1/2 cup,) or brown rice.  Staying away from bread as much as possible, but schedule my days around times i know i may have to eat out with little option OR with little self control!  Wine on weekends and 1-2 glasses.  I am trying to get the higher carb days in sync with high cardio days, but sometimes you have to do both whenever you can get them in.

Getting ENOUGH calories in has been what i am working on, i think i need to stay in the 1500-1600 range no matter how the carbs are broken out.  For me as I have done this before, i expect to lose like 5 lbs tha week proir to my show…with water extraction etc, so in essence i would like to continue with my 1 lb a week progress.  Should work.  We’ll see.
