Start of 3rd and last set of GVT

This will be the last round of  my 5 day a week GVT. Today starts the 3rd round, and I will be increasing my weight and keeping the reps as is.  I am lo toing forward to starting my regular week splits next week.  I have been feeling good on this GVT program, and decided to do atleast 2 weeks of my regular training before i start in to  Phase 2 of the GVT program.  The site actually suggests a 3 week phase in between…..anyway I am feeling pressed for time and weight loss. I need to up my cardio to atleast an hour a day ( i do 30 -40 minutes 4x a week)  The weight is coming off.  I am on Day 40 of my diet and have lost over 7 lbs.  I need to lose 5.5 more to hit my first goal.  I am hoping to get there within the next 3 weeks.  This is all weight that i never want to see again, so i am really not considering part of my Competition cutting  Anyone who has done a show can tell you the difference.

 

Wish me luck on the getting rid of the next 5.

Need to lose weight …..

I am on Day 35 of my DIET, and feeling blah.  I am doing well on the diet, saving my "cheat" items for special occasions etc.  Just not really feeling great today.  I am on a low i guess….on Day 3 or my second set of German Volume Training, so it was an "off" day….which means cardio for me.  Tomorrow is arms and shoulders.  I was looking at pictures of myself from the past weekend and I see that i still need to lose 5 more pounds or so before i will be happy with my arms.  They still look watery….bloaty…like a fat girl.  I like when they are defined and big, not just big.  I got through my whole first week of GVT on shedule, pretty happy with it.  It is a great plateau buster, i have a link to the site on my main page if anyone is interested.

 

Gotta go throw some chicken in the oven.

GVT>> German Volume Training

I am phasing into a new routine with some GVT.

I am following a program I found on Bodybuilding.com.  Today is day 2 of the training:  Legs and Abs.  This was pretty harsh.

10 sets of 10 Squats

10 sets of 10 Lying leg curl

3 sets of 12 abs (low pulley)

3 sets of 12 calf raises.

Then i did a recovery walk on the treadmill for 20 min…..

Yesterdays workout was:

10 sets of 10 decline chest dumbbell (palms facing each other)

10 sets of 10 under hand PULLUPS

3 sets of 12 incline chest press dumbbells

3 sets of 12 bent over dumbbell rows

then i ran 2 miles and sprinted 2-100’s.

I know that the DOM’S (delayed onset muscle soreness) will hit me tonight and tomorrow…so happy that tomorrow is a scheduled day off.  The workout goes on Days 1,2 and 4, and off days 3 and 5.  Then repeat.

As far as the diet goes…I am on track.  Hopefully will drop 2 lbs this week.  I got a used 1 piece suit, and using that as my motivation.  Right now I put it on and sing Chris Farley: Fat Girl in a Little suit….Fat girl in a little suit…

Wish me luck through my soreness.

Workout for today

Today is supposed to be my 2nd Butt/leg day this week.  I am going to go ahead and try to get through the workout, even though i had swelling on my knees earlier this week (post 1st butt day).  I’ll take some advil before I go;

Here is the plan for today:
Sumo squat on 25’s w/45 plate
Romanian Deadlift w/45lb dumbbells
Plie squat 45 lb dumbbell
reverse lunge off of bench
Superman/frogman off of bench
Reverse hack Squat
Butt Blaster
Glute machine….not really a hamstring curl machine..it is a standing butt push..
Walking lunges (no weight) and walking reverse lunges (no weight)

I need to do an hour of cardio today, so i will most likely split it up and go back this evening for round 2.  Recumbant Bike, stairmaster mixed.

This is Day 26 of my diet….and gonna try to be good all weekend long.  I have one week left before i really start knocking off the "extras", right now i have limited my carbs..not deleted them from the menu.  I plan on doing 2 full weeks of No salt, no sugar,No dairy, no alcohol, no bread.  YUCK….that will still put me at right about 14 weeks out of competition..i think…i amy need to look at the calendar on this one….

Start of Day 25…….of the DIET FROM HELL

Soon I will be changing these diet days into weeks.  I am still doing well…..early though.  Yesterday I had the onset of low energy.  I have water on my knees…so trying to take legs and cardio "easy" wothout falling out of routine.  Tuned up my chest and back days with some German Volume Training (GVT).  Also have thrown in a few different shoulder exercises for the next 2 weeks..and more glutes.  I am doing twice a week on butt…which is why I think my knees are aching and swollen.  I am buying a used suit from another competitor…and will start posting prgoress pix in the suit.  YIKES!
