Training splits…

Anyone like to offer an opinion on how to split training days?  I currently train just one bodypart a day.  Thinking of making some kind of change to try and recharge my training…

Training down…

Cardio went well at lunch yesterday and bodyweight down a little.  Back workout in evening kinda sucked.  Going lighter due to trying to lose weight and taking it easy on arm, but was still weak…  Fair pump, but struggled…   I guess everyone has ups and downs, and I certainly have had my share in the 30+ years I’ve trained in one form or the other.  But really in a down phase right now.  That and some issues in personal life making it tough right now…  Guess I just will keep pumping through it and hoping/waiting for next upswing….

New update

Not a great chest day yesterday.  Great pump, but strength kind of down and expected it to be…  The trying to lose weight and the arm thing is a definite factor.  Also had to work out early in day as went to son’s high school graduation in evening.  No good spotters in gym.  Still doubled 345, and got five at 315 on way down…

Update

Great leg workout last night.  Leg presses 20 reps at 630.  Hack squats 15 at 270 and 14 at 290.  haven’t noticed any weight loss yet…  Entered the fitness contest at work on Monday.  Haven’t got body fat percentage yet.  Ninety days to improve…  Today is a heavy bench day.  Instead of heavy singles, going to see how many reps can do at 345.  Hoping for 3 or 4.  Arm feeling a little better.

How does anyone feel about twice a day training.  What I’m talking about is during my lunch break going  in and doing some cardio and abs or something.  Then going in after work and doing my main weight workout.  My weight workouts run from 1-2 hours depending on what bodypart.  My cardio workout would be about 30-45 minutes.  But that means I would have to be changing clothes, showering and everything else in the middle of the day only to have to workout again…  Also, there would only be about a four hour break between the two workouts…  My only other option is to cut down on weight stuff for a while and do more cardio in my evening workout…  Boy, when I was young and my metabolism was better this was not such an issue…

Help…

Anyone with any advice on how to arrange my training or get my head into it let me know…  Read my former blogs and see what my current dilemma (one of many actually) is…  I want to lose weight but not too much strength.  I’ve been training for over 30 years, it has always been the one steady thing in my life….  Help me get back on track, all suggestions are welcome.

Training really kinda blah right now…  Arm still a little achy…  Missed several workouts for several reasons to include arm.  Also depressed about bodyweight…  Can’t seem to kick self in butt and get motivated.  Have got to get head right so can get body right…..

Decisions???

Kinda blah about training right now…  Arm still a little painful.  Plus really tired of not losing weight like I want to.  Seems like in order for strength to go up, have to be willing to be fatter than I really want to be.  Went on a bike ride yesterday.  Even though I’ve been doing some cardio in gym, that showed me how out of shape I really am.  Couple years ago used to ride bike all over neighborhood.  Yesterday a 25 minute bike ride about wore me out….  I have entered in a team fitness challenge where I work.  Hopefully it will motivate me to get into good shape.  I hate not doing the heavy training, but I guess I have to think of things long term….

So so day.

Missed doing my double at 370, but got a solid single.  Also coming down got five at 315 and eleven at 275.  Then inclines went real well with seven at 260 and thirteen at 220.  But feeling a little discomfort in my left bicep area.  Felt it a lot during back workout on Wednesday.  Going to go light for a few days to see if maybe just strained it a little.  Getting closer to making decision to skip bench meet and go ahead and start training a little lighter and cut up some…

Heavy Day Today

Just a pre-workout note, going to try a double today on the bench with 370.  Trying to get my head right and hoping nothing comes up at work that holds me up…   Pretty good leg workout last night. Did 18 reps on leg press with 630 pounds.  Thighs pretty sore already, feels good…
