weight gain!

Feel as though I need to vent. This thing called "weight gain" is a pain, imo! It feel as though I am doing everything right imo; the results are slow in coming. I know people say it takes time; how much is the question. NO, I am not looking for a fast way to get this done. It seems as though the results are not equaling the work that I am putting in. I go to the gym twice a week. Go hard every time out. The muscle gains are evident. The weight is another story!

On top of that, I try to manage my diet to the best of my ability. I try to get the recommended protein/carbs/fats. This is easier said than done. My issue seems to be that I am taking in more carbs and fats than protein. Don’t know why this is, when most of my protein comes from chicken, fish, pb, peanuts and other forms of protein. Is there something that I am doing wrong? For those who are wondering, no I don’t take any supplementation. I stopped that a while back. I have tried protein shakes; it did nothing but give me either gas or a case of the - - - -s. The only thing that seemed to help was the creatine; I have been off of that now for ~ 2-3 mos. Almost feel as though or I have given some thought as to going back on it. Does anyone else ever feel this way? Any thoughts, suggestions, comments, etc.?

What’s your diet like? How many calories per day are you squeezing in and how frequently do you eat?

I have always been a super hard gainer. It wasnt until I got my diet right and then the weight started packing on.

I understand about the protein why you don’t take it because of gas I have the same problem about the protein I took True-Mass It gave me gas after about 5 days, but the protein give you heavy gas at the point it’s making you go to the bathroom It’s a waist of money. For weight gain yea It’s best to do it natural that’s what I doing now, but I still take protein, but regular protein just using water only because milk give me gas. Try to eat 35% protein, Carbs 50%, 15% fat per day for mass gain — weight X 18 = for the amount of calories you need a day.

well i just did a little bit of math for you. Rich, it may be time for you to start counting calories. You’re going to want to get at least 2,250 calories a day to see a little gain. If you can, step it up to 2,750. but remember to keep it smart. It doesn’t seem like a lot, but some people can actually be amazed at how much they find they need to eat to get that much in a day.

As a small diet suggestion, try really loading up those carbs in the morning. It’ll help you out on the calorie count and also help fuel your day. This dish suggestion also helps pack on those calories for the day…try 3 waffles, 3 eggs, 2 pieces sliced turkey or some other deli meat, a banana, and ideally a protein shake, but since you’re exing those, then go for a glass of 2% milk…hell mix that with a bowl of cereal while you’re at it. That will already put you at about 1,000 calories right there. It sounds like a lot of food, but once it’s in front of you, it really doesn’t seem like it. For lunch, you’re a working man…just hit up Subway and don’t be afraid to rock the footlong. if it’s calories you want, the chicken teriyaki is a good one. my personal fav is the toasted BLT with provolone, spinach, cucumbers, and honey mustard :-] ok. too long a post. good luck!
