I slept fairly well last night, even if I did wake up in the middle of the night with a Jon Secada song stuck in my head. How it got there is beyond me (I promise!) and I don’t want to spend too much time dwelling on it, for fear of something even worse popping into my head (Milli Vanilli?)
Side Laterals
10 (15)
30 (10,10,10)
Lots of cheating going on here to get the weight up, but all shoulders on the way down slooooowwly. We’re talking a 3 SCOOOBY-DOOBY-DOO count.
20 (10,10,10)
No cheating
10 (15,14,14)
Barbell Press
115 (5,7,7)
I had to push press for two on the last two sets to get to seven.
Rear Laterals
25 (11,11,10,10)
Pushups
(25,20,15)
Front Raises
10 (15,15,15)
Wide Grip Shrugs
275 (15)
325 (8,6,6,4,2)
I realized that my form was pretty piss poor by the second set of 325, and thought about dropping the weight back down, but stupidity prevailed and I kept going until grip failure set in.
275 (15,12,12,10)
Cardio was 25 minutes of heart pounding, buckets of sweat inducing, Veruca Salt shaking elliptical.
I know that the heart rate is inaccurate (elliptical said 150, but it was 178), so I know not to put too much faith in the calories burned calculator, but I did get it to 1000 before I dragged my sorry butt off of it.
Good Times.

-My favorite soreness comes from back days where the focus is pullups.
[Too tired to re-read. Hope that makes sense.]
-It’s a sorry day when I’m actually looking forward to my boiled eggs. Today was that day.
-Now would be a good time for my
QUOTE OF INSPIRATION:
Avoid all needle drugs. The only dope worth shooting is Richard Nixon.
Abbey Hoffman
Well, it’s partly inspiring.
-Shoulders and traps tomorrow.

Cripes! I am hungry today.
I find myself eating every couple of hours (if I’m lucky), which is a bit faster than usual.
I haven’t strayed from the same old same old, blah blah blah nutrition plan, but it just hasn’t been as filling as it usually is.
Lots of cravings (kettle chips, twizzlers, pie, and an insane urge to make a little kid cry, etc. etc.) but no snacking (and no making a little kid cry. DAMN IT!!)
Just lots of tea and spot on nutrition.

Why?
Why did I drag my bleary-eyed, logy, wanna-be-lazy behind out of bed on this beautiful (in an "I-don’t-give-a-crap-I’m-in-a-kid-kicki n’-mood" kind of way) day?
To be viciously assaulted by an obscenely large and endless pile of laundry that tried to intentionally trip me on the way down the stairs to the basement!?!
Good Times!
Oh well. On to back.
Hammer Grip Pullups
Bodyweight (9,9,7)
Weighted Pullups
+25 (8,8,7)
I was surprised at my lack of strength at this point. BLEH!
Close Grip Pullups
Bodyweight (10)
Long Bar Rows
190 (11,11,11,10)
Wide Grip Pulldowns
160 (10,10,9,7)
125 (8,8,5)
Held the contraction for a 2 SCOOBY-DOOBY-DOO count on the last three sets.
Rack Pulls
Nope
Back Shrugs
275 (5)
205 (2)
Couldn’t get the feel of it today. Decided to back off and quit because my lower back was feeling somewhat hinky anyway.
Finished off with some weighted hanging and stretching.
Cardio was 25 minutes of sweat dripping, power ballad lip synching elliptical. BOOYAH!!
I mean, I was doing the lip synching, not the elliptical.
You know what I mean.
I hope.
Maybe?
OH WELL.
FIN.

-Today’s workout was above and beyond decent. It was great seeing some strength on the incline press and it’s even better having a sore chest right now.
My hamstrings are tight and bugging me from shoveling. Nothing some stretching wouldn’t fix- if I wasn’t feeling too tired and lazy.
-And now my QUOTE OF INSPIRATION:
Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid altogether.
?
If that’s not inspiration, I don’t know what is.
-Back and Forearms tomorrow.

Just another day of same old same old nutrition. No snacking. Some cravings.
I really missed sugar today. I didn’t even care if it was in the form of cookies or candy. Hell- I would have been fine with just a bag of sugar.
Granulated.
Powdered.
Brown.
I don’t care. I just wanted some sugar.
*SIGH*
Oats, shakes, burritos, sweet potato, blah blah blah.
Time for boiled eggs.
My nutrition was spot on.
GRRRRR-frickin-RRRRRR!!

I probably could have stayed under the covers hiding from the day, but my Snow Shoveling Sense was tingling.
Damn weathermen! Had me believing I was just going to get a little slush, instead I woke up with four inches of snow.
So I was up before dawn had a chance to buttcrack a smile (I know. Recycled, but I like it.).
Today I skipped the warm up bench pressing. No pressing the bar. No pressing the light weight for only 15. For warm up I hit the elliptical for a few minutes and just did some light dumbell presses.
Incline Bench Press
165 (12)
175 (9)
180 (8,7,6)
My previous best on the incline was 170 (five reps). I’m not sure why I decided to start off with 165, but I’m glad I did.
Flat Bench Press
180 (9,8,7)
165 (10)
Dumbbell Flyes
35 (12,11,10,10)
That’s it. A light day for me.
Cardio was an hour of shoveling. I thought about bringing out the snowblower because I still haven’t started it up this year, but I was a good boy and didn’t slack off.

-Today’s weigh in was 210.2.
My measurements were all in line:
Arms were down a smidge (16.75)
Chest was up a bit for first thing in the morning (44.5)
Legs were holding steady (26)
Calves Shmalves.
Couldn’t measure shoulders but they’re definitely broader than usual.
And last but not least, I measured bodyfat using the tried and true caliper-mirror-scale measurements and all were looking good.
-And now for my tried and true
QUOTE OF INSPIRATION:
Start every day off with a smile and get it over with.
W.C. Fields.
BAM!
-Chest and something tomorrow.

Nothing new.
Today I kept my carbs moderate instead of low. Sources were pelletized cardboard (Oh alright. Go Lean), sweet potato, and oats.
I’ve been a bit cranky today, but I’d chalk that up to one child too many picking the wrong time to get moody with me.
Cravings were mild (crumb cakes, chips, and that bag of beef jerky in the checkout line at the store today) but no snacking.
My nutrition is spot on.
GRRRRR!
