-I had a nice, quiet, and relaxing day today, and I’m not saying that because my wife and two sons were gone for most of it…
…alright, I am saying it!
But in my defense- oh fine, I have no defense.
-I’m having some serious McDonalds cravings. I’m not talking about their big mac, fillet of fish, quarter pounder with some cheese, icy coke, thick shake, something something and apple pie (sorry, old commercial popped in my head). I’m talking about french fries.
I haven’t had their french fries in a loooong time. A very looooong time. Too loooooong. Must stop typing loooooong.
Looooooong.
Alright. I’m done. Sorry.
-Time for some WORDS OF ADVICE:
Dew knot trussed yore spell chequer two fined awl yore mistakes.
Baendan Hills
And there you have it.
-Back and forearms tomorrow.

Meal 1/Shake: Oats, water, yogurt, apple, whey, glutamine.
Meal 2: Burritos
Meal 3: Go lean.
Meal 4: Almonds and boiled egg.
Meal 5: Steak and sweet potato.
Meal 6: Boiled eggs and almonds
Meal 7/Good Night Shake: water, cottage cheese, peanut butter, whey.
Not much going on. Just finished meal four.
I’ve managed to stick with the program even though I didn’t do any workout. Lots of cravings, especially right now, but no snacking.
Might have to throw an extra meal in there somewhere to keep myself from snacking.

I can’t stop yawning this morning.
After a long sleepless night, I dragged my sorry butt out of bed early so I could get the flat tire repaired and get the vehicle back in time for my wife to continue on her quest to run over every nail on the road, sidewalk, or wherever she may roam.
By the time I got home, I didn’t have too much energy and didn’t feel like fueling up, waiting and then going through a workout, so I called it a day.
Instead, I hit the kitchen and prepped a batch of burritos and boiled some eggs.
I thought about baking some cookies and not letting the kids have any (Yes, I know, my sense of humor is twisted), but was too tired even to have fun.
Can’t stop yawning.

-I learned quite a few things today, including how many times I can say "Ow" in a five minute time span.
The first thing I learned is that when your wife is in the habit of bringing the car home with a flat tire, bite your tongue, walk away and don’t mutter the first sarcastic comment that comes to mind.
The second thing I learned is that my driveway is sloped. It’s not something that you notice until your car is jacked up and you take the parking break off because the damn tire won’t come off and you get the bright idea that maybe if you take the parking break off you can wiggle and pry the damn thing off.
The third thing I learned is that when you crawl under the car to kick at the tire and you’ve taken off the parking brake, take your headphones off so you can hear the jack scraping across the ground as the car rolls off.
No worries, it just rolled away from me.
-And my final lesson. For every two hours I spend kicking, swearing, cutting myself (Ow), rapping my head on the rear hatch (Ow, ow, ow and ow), etc. etc., it will take my wife five minutes to call AAA, and it will take the AAA man a mere five minutes to pry it off and change it for me.
Good times.
- I could use a QUOTE OF INSPIRATION:
Diplomacy is the art of saying "Nice doggie" until you can find a rock.
Wynn Catlin
GRRRR.
-Back and forearms tomorrow.

This day may be slowly deteriorating into one classic clusterf**ck of a day, but at least my nutrition is spot on.

-I had some trouble getting out of bed this morning, an insane urge to not get out of bed this morning not withstanding.
Even though the winter has been mild, February is almost over, and it’s almost leprechaun hunting season, I still find myself waking up in one of those moods, like I did on this bleary-eyed, logy and apathetic morning.
Nothing to do about it but roll out of bed and ignore it.
Decline Bench Press
210 (10)
220 (7,8,8,7)
210 (8)
185 (10,10)
Bleh. Everything felt alright, but mentally I was just out of it and not too aware of what was going on.
Flat Bench Press.
185 (7)
150 (10,10,7,6,)
On the last two sets, I brought the weight down and held it for a two count (yes, SCOOBY DOOBY DOO!) before exploding upward. Haven’t done that in a while, so it felt great.
Kind of waking up and starting to feel normal.
Dumbbell Pullovers
80 (9)
70 (9)
60 (9)
Done.
Cardio #1 was 20 minutes of sweat drenching, Alice and Chains dropping, what’s-the-highest-resistance-on-this-thing, 750 calories killin’ elliptical.
Now I’m awake and ready to get through the day.
Cardio #2 was 45 minutes of slowly shoveling the 1 and a half inches of snow off the driveway and walkways.

-My lower abs and obliques are getting pretty sore already, which I’m very happy about, but what’s really got me geeked are my traps and mid-back. Oh how they ache!!
I haven’t had any decent mid back soreness in a long time, no matter how I row or pulldown. I can’t believe I haven’t done wide grip shrugs in almost a year. I used to do them over and over and over and over to much satisfaction, but somehow lost track of them. I’ll definitely have to keep them in rotation.
-Oh I’ve got songs galore stuck in my head, but not so much that I can’t give you my
QUOTE OF INSPIRATION:
There are not enough Indians in the world to defeat the Seventh Cavalry
George Armstrong Custer
Yeah! Now that’s the kind of inspiration that makes the world a better place.
-Chest and something tomorrow.

Other than a bowl of Go Lean in the afternoon, I’ve held off on the carbs, without any grouchy, snarly, kid-kickin’ side effects.
Later on I’m going to eat pizza for dinner, but not as a cheat, as it’s worked into the daily totals, and I just can’t count anything as a cheat that isn’t loaded down with enough sugar to make a corpse go into hyperdrive.

My Snow Shoveling Sense was tingling very early this morning, keeping me from falling back to sleep and getting a full six hours.
Oh well. No biggie.
I decided to stick with my original abs and cardio plan today, instead of skipping the elliptical and going straight to shoveling.
**SUPERSET**
Dumbbell Leg Raises
5 (15,12,10,10)
V-UPS
(12,12,11,10)
**END SUPERSET**
Dumbbell Oblique Side Bends (Whatever)
35 (15,15,15,15)
Oblique Twists
35 (24,24,24,24 per side)
Cardio #1 was 25 minutes of elliptical. I kept it easy; the tension and pace nice and moderate. Heart rate was an easy 165 Bpm. Decent sweat.
Cardio #2 was an hour of shoveling the 3+ inches of snow off the driveway and walkways. I took it easy, not concerned with trying to blaze through.

-Traps and rear delts are feeling completely thrashed right now after today’s workout.
Side delts aren’t sore but I know they were worked out.
Front delts were still aching from Friday’s chest day and today just helped finish them off.
-And the nominees for best overdramatic performance are:
My 11 year old daughter for her portrayal of a drama queen in "But I Don’t WHAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNAA Clean"
My 6 year old daughter for her heart-wrenching turn as an obnoxious 6 year old in "Why do I have to eat my vegetables?"
Disqualified is my 2 year old son for his use of the word "goobdammit"
(I have no idea where he learned that!)
-And now, your QUOTE OF INSPIRATION:
Always remember you’re unique, just like everyone else.
Alison Boulter
The perfect inspiration to help get you out of bed on Monday morning.
ENJOY!
-Abs and cardio tomorrow.
