Caffeine, protein, glutamine, wood shavings (or Go Lean if you prefer), and my new best friend- the tuna-sweet potato smash.
I weighed in today at 213.6 for another loss, which makes me happy.
I wasn’t sure I’d be able to keep the burritos going as my post post workout meal, but I guess I can get another batch ready.
Nutrition today is spot on.

I slept very well last night. Six wonderful hours, broken only by one hour (maybe a little more) of staring off into space and humming the Partridge Family tune that had made it’s way into my head.
No problems getting up this morning and getting ready for my workout.
Sit ups
(12,10,10,10)
Weighted Crunches
45 (12,12,12,12)
Bicycle Crunches
(14,14,12,12)
V-Ups
(12,12,12,12)
It’s been a while since I’ve done regular old situps. It was a struggle getting to ten and above. I considered anchoring my feet to assist my but decided not to. I felt like struggling.
I was already comfortable ensconced within my cardio when I realized I had forgotten my hyperextensions. No worries though, my lower back was feeling completely sore and worked out from yesterdays deadlifts.
48 minutes of cardio (heart rate 167 BPM). No issues at all. It was dull and comfortable.
For music, obviously I had a hankering for the Partridge Family that would not be denied.
(Yes, I know. DORK!)
For the hell of it, I threw in some Monkees, Oasis, and Limp Bizkit (not sure if this amalgamation was the wisest of choices, but it did get the job done.)

Today’s back workout kicked my butt and then some. I’m still getting stronger in my deadlifts, but it’s definitely getting harder. I can feel my form slipping at the end of each set.
Backing off for a few weeks and upping my reps might not be a bad idea.
-Time to go sleepy bye-bye.
Good night.
-Abs and cardio tomorrow.

It’s been a good day for eating. I’ve stuck to my schedule and haven’t strayed into snacking and craving territory.
No Problemos.
Okie Dokie. Here is one of my protein bar recipes.
2.5 cups kidney bean flour
1 cup ground almonds
8 scoops whey
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 cups soy milk
1 egg
1 egg white
2 Tb. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
-Mix dry ingredients.
-Add wet ingredients.
-Stir thoroughly
-Spread onto lined cookie sheet
-Bake at 325 for 15 min. until golden brown.
-Cut. Cool. Wrap.
*The last time I made these, I was running around doing three or four things at once:
-I added some splenda packets to the dry ingredients but don’t remember how many. It wasn’t too many and they ended up tasting sweet.
-If the mixture is too dry add 1/4 cup of liquid (water, milk, etc.) and stir it up. Not too much. You should have to spread it out onto the cookie tray (not pour it out.)
I’ve only used this recipe twice and I like it, though I am in the process of tweaking it some more to suit my needs.

GRRRRR!*
*Translation*
I stayed in bed this morning for a couple extra hours of needed sleep. I still ended up dragging my sorry butt out of bed feeling like cat piss warmed over, but it was a whole lot better than nothing.
I was still dragging ass an hour later when it was time for exercising (I really need to get into the habit of having a tea in the morning before my workout, but I always forget).
Medium Grip Barbell Rows
45 (20)
135 (12)
185 (10,10,10)
135 (12,10)
It’s been a while since I last rowed to my chest. I liked the feel. Definitely will stay this way for a while.
I’m starting to wake up.
Deadlifts
214 (3)
275 (3)
315 (3)
350 (5,5,5)
225 (10,10)
Right after my last 350 rep, I quickly dropped to 225 and belted out 10 reps. Then I did another 10 reps with barely any rest.
OWWWWW!
I thought my heart was going to beat itself out of me and take off for Florida, where, "The water’s warm, the drinks are cold, and I don’t know the names of the players."
?!?!?
(Sorry for that. Watched too much Miami Vice as a kid!)
(And yesterday as well)
(And the day before)
One arm dumbbell rows
115 (6)
100 (8,8,8)
Close Grip Pull Ups
(8,8,8)
I’m dying! I’m DYING!!
For some reason, I am flying through this workout with little rest, which I normally can’t stand because that’s what cardio is for.
Dumbbell Pullovers
85 (10,8,7)
Finished off with close grip weighted hangs. For some reason, I feel a better stretch than medium grip or wide grip. I’ll stick with the close grip for a while to make sure.
Too tired for forearms.
Cardio was 16 min on the bike (heart rate 158)

-My chest feels pretty good right now. Not pumped up and sore, but stretched and worked out.
-Since I didn’t put in that much of a workout, I kept my carbs moderate-low today and dropped them altogether around 5. Tomorrow I’ll go hight carb.
-Maddi, I’ll post a recipe (tomorrow) if you want, but be forewarned- I don’t worry too much about how things taste when I get on a health kick or cutting phase.
-Back and forearms tomorrow.

Almonds. Boiled eggs. Homemade protein bars. Whey protein.
These were the things that pulled me through the day and helped save me from snacking.
These were the things that kept me from the doughnuts and the candy.
Almonds. Boiled eggs, Homemade protein bars. Whey protein.
DAMN THEM TO HELL!!

Sleep is overrated.
Who needs it.
Not me.
Nope.
(insert tired cliche that makes you cringe when you hear it)
I’ll sleep when I die.
(cringe)
No headache last night, but a poor night’s sleep nonetheless.
That’s alright, though. I’ve got oolong and green teas aplenty to see me through the day (or at least the morning and mid-afternoon. I may be screwed in the evening.)
I was surprised to find that my chest was still a bit sore from my last chest workout. This is a first since changing to the two times a week workout.
Since I had other things to do today anyway, I decided to listen to my body and keep it simple today.
Wide-grip Flat Barbell Bench Press
135 (20,15,12)
Medium Grip Barbell Bench Press
185 (9,9,9)
Stopped short of failure on all sets.
Decline Bench Press
185 (11,10,9)
Still no failure. I kept a wide grip today. My chest and shoulders had a great pump going.
Single Leg Calf Raises
35 (20,20,20)
My heart just wasn’t into it today.
15 min on the bike (heart rate 150) and I was gone.

-The rest of my day was smooth sailing (thank you Mr. Sweet Potato). In the future, I shall remember to get my first dose of carbs on low carb day earlier than I did today.
-Too tired to think. I think. I’m not sure.
-Chest and calves tomorrow.

-With the help of some carbs and lots of tea, I got my butt in gear and found some energy to make it through this low carb day from hell.
I’m not sure why, but this day sucked so much worse than any other day I’ve waited to take in carbs.
-Today for carbs, I mixed some tuna fish into a mashed up sweet potato at lunchtime.
Was it good?
Who knows. I was so ready for carbs, you could have fed me some high carb chicken poop and I would have inhaled it.
So I tried it again for dinner and surprisingly it wasn’t bad.
-Today’s tea selections ranged from a pretty decent peach flavored white tea, to my usual life saving oolong and green tea choices.
I’m still hating the new Snapple teas.
BABBLE OFF
