-One holiday down.  Two more to go… but first, it’s the no holds barred battle royale for congress.

-Day off tomorrow.  I’m feeling pretty beat up, so I might just take the whole day off and skip the light cardio.

It’s the classic tale of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.  If I miss a feeding or fall behind on my eating schedule, Look Out!  I’m a complete terror to anyone foolish enough to try and have a conversation with me.  But when I’m on target with my eating, everything is as right as rain.

Until five minutes ago, I was Mr. Hyde.

Cardio

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

The Great Pumpkin is coming!  The Great Pumpkin is coming!!

I just did 45 min. of cardio this morning after a brief panic attack (out of nowhere).  Followed that up with more panic attacks until I finally got myself under control.  Not my favorite of days so far, but I’m hoping for a strong finish.

-Day off tomorrow, or abs and cardio?

-Peanut butter or Flax seed in my good night shake?  I am getting tired of the peanut butter taste.

-Keep mulching those damn leaves, or wash the car tomorrow?

-David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar?

-Go to bed or read?

-News Radio or Boy Meets World?

Nutrition

Monday, October 30th, 2006

Not one of my better days for eating.  Skipped my morning post post workout shake and it was all downhill from there.  I didn’t even get in any decent snacking today. 

On the plus side, I am hydrated.  I’ve been keeping up with my water and green tea consumption. 

I’ve gotta go scarf something before I get a bad temper.  Oops, too late.

Legs

Monday, October 30th, 2006

Finally dragged my sorry butt out of my sorry bed this sorry morning.  I haven’t slept this poorly since… the night before last!

Took my time warming up for squats (there are just too many ways to injure myself when I’m this tired).  I wasn’t sure I’d have it in me to do a decent workout, but by the fourth light set (10-12 reps), I was finally ready to go.  Three more sets (8-6 range), and then it was deadlifts.  I managed four moderate sets (10-6 range) before a headache and mild dizzyness ensued, so I hit the bike and called it a day.

Resting for a bit before I head out to tackle the lawn.

My final thoughts this evening

-Tomorrow is supposed to be an ab/cardio day, followed by leg day on tuesday.  Since Tuesday is Halloween, I’m thinking of switching my workouts around.  That way my legs won’t be hurting too much while I wait in the pumpkin patch for the Great Pumpkin to rise up and bestow candy and toys upon me and not my children (non believers!)  So legs tomorrow it is.

Nutrition

When I wasn’t thinking about going out and working in the yard, I was prepping a large batch of beef stew.  Not the kind mom used to make (you know the kind.  No beef, just stew the next day when you went to get some.)  Triple the amount of beef, so when I want some tomorrow, I know there’ll be more than just carrots and potatoes waiting for me.

Arms

Sunday, October 29th, 2006

Everything looks dead outside.  All the fall colors are gone and I have a mess of leaves to pick up.  Just not today, because my arms are killing me.

For triceps, I substituted close grip bench press for close grip military press.  I was stronger than the last time I did them, that felt great.  That and the dips, really had my arms feeling it.  I didn’t have it going for me with the overhead extensions,  but I finished well with the tricep press downs.

Biceps were okay. While I didn’t have the perfect feel for it with barbell extensions, I made up for it with some close grip pull ups.  Then the incline curls and concentration curls really finished me off.

My final thoughts this evening

-Add The Shining to the list of movies my wife doesn’t want me watching with the kids.  I never get to have any fun.

-Guess I’d better add one hour to the number of days until the great pumpkin rises from his pumpkin patch.  I hate daylight savings.

-Arms tomorrow.
