Shoulders and Traps
Now that I think about it, I always sleep poorly when the weather changes to cold. I eventually get used to being awake for a few hours every night, but the transition from sleeping all night, to borderline insomnia is what kills me.
I’m in that transition.
Anyhoo, on to shoulders.
Last week, I felt I didn’t do my shoulders justice. I didn’t want to overtrain them, but I was determined to not leave until I couldn’t lift my arms.
I began with dumbbell presses, one arm at a time, to make sure my right side didn’t dominate, like it seems to when I’m not focused.
Then I moved on to barbell presses, and I kept at it until my arms were on fire (four heavy sets).
Not taking any chances, I moved into upright barbell rows to give my side delts some action.
After that, rear laterals to keep my rear delts in line with the rest, and then front raises.
I could barely move my arms, but I wasn’t done. I now moved on to traps. Front barbell shrugs and behind the back barbell shrugs, until I was wishing my traps had support.
I was moving pretty quickly, so I finished off by hanging with weights for a few sets, then cardio.
OOOWWWWW!!!
